totally agreed, but I don't get because he is often underrated.
he wins everything as difference maker in Barca  , but it s because of Dinho  . he makes same thing with Inter, but it is because of Milito. So is he just a lucky man ? or simply is he a real factor for the successes ? Always someone to obscure him , although goals, performance , class, titles, leadership...
About the comparison with Raul , I believe they are  basically same level, same status legend, personally if I must choose between 2 to have in my team , I take Eto'o .
but it's debatable. you'will anyone you take

I was gonna kick up a fuss about how Mendieta ain't no fraud then I had to correct myself with a very real fact: back then, if you couldn't cut it in Serie A, you really weren't gonna be rated highly.

mendieta was godlike at valencia. he was sub-par at lazio, barcelona and spain...he looked extremely ordinary with spain (which is true for many guys on their national team, which is why i don't buy into the 'champions league football is only what matters' discussion) totally different player on the spanish team, it was like Jekyll and hyde, most times he couldn't even command a starting place

Another great announced her retirement: Abby Wambach who won 252 caps during which she scored 184 goals - the most international goals ever scored by any football player world-wide.

Brazilian goalkeeper legend Rogério Ceni hung up his gloves aged 42 years after a long and successful career.

Official Retirement Appreciation Thread - Page 11 Th-cen10

Rogério Ceni played 25 (!) years at FC São Paulo during which he collected 26 trophies, among them the World Cup 2002. He played more than 1240 matches and scored 131 goals (FKs and penalties).

I'm deeply saddened to see him leave the big stage now. I doubt there will be any goalkeeper like him again any time soon.

Nemanja Vidic, 34, has announced he's retiring. He was great in his prime, but really fizzled out after United won the Prem in 2013.

Probably one of the most uncompromising defenders in the last decade or so.

Would've loved to have seen him with a good Serie A team in his prime instead at the end of his career.

Veteran coach Huub Stevens retired from active management due to heart problems. The "Knurrer of Kerkrade" (literally "Growler of Kerkrade") will be sorely missed.

Borussia M'gladbach's Martin Stranzl announced his retirement for the end of this season. He was the defensive rock in the team and ever since he has been missing due to various injuries, Gladbach's defense has been leaking goals. He will be sorely missed on the pitch, even though he will stay with Gladbach after his time as player in a different function.

Yeah, shame the injuries have taken its toll on him. My favourite moment was when he had that great moment in that one important game sometime within the last 10 years. Will never forget.

Man I used to play with Udinese on FIFA so much just so I could build around Di Natale and make him win Scudetto and CL.
