oh ffs. It hits in the feels.

Man I used to play with Udinese on FIFA so much just so I could build around Di Natale and make him win Scudetto and CL.

Nope he isn't retiring just yet.

Official: Di Natale to leave Udinese
Antonio Di Natale has confirmed that he will leave Udinese at the end of the season, but he won’t retire.

Speaking of retirements, to make all those who remember feel a lot older than their age or general well being would feel, Juan Carlos Valeron retired  from football at the wonderful age of 40 last week.

Should have mentioned it sooner but I got tied up with Madrid affairs. Anyway, here is a quote from Sid Lowe's article that pretty much sums up this wonderful Spaniard and amazing footballer.

I think this goes some way to summing up what he meant to the game as a whole.
As Diego Tristán once quite aptly put it: "He wasn't considered the best, because he didn't want to be".

He was and will remain an example: Of talent, of generosity, of an exceptional football player and just as outstanding a human being also.
One of the very few (even above a World Cup final scoring winner like Don Andres) who was/is respected at every ground he played at... even that of so called "arch-rivals", as the standing ovation at the Balaidos a few years back demonstrates.

I was fortunate enough to see him play live... a lot! More so even to be at his last ever official game at the Riazor recently. Where both pre and post match he spent a considerable amount of time signing autographs, posing for selfies with the ball boys, and hugged the grounds staff and kit men like long lost relatives. This type of humility being precisely something that characterised his entire career, "He was that good, because he was so good" as the article somewhat effectively relays.

But neither I, nor the many fellow professionals, and countless journalists and fans who have tried. Could ever give a glowing enough eulogy that will perdure anywhere near as long as his impact on the game itself will.
Simply put: #GraciasValerón - #Eterno21, #SempreNoNosoCorazon!

Luca Toni will mark his retirement by saluting Bayern Munich fans at the Allianz Arena tomorrow afternoon.

The Verona striker hung up his boots with a Panenka-style penalty in the 2-1 Serie A victory over Juventus last week.

Now Hellas have announced on their club website that Bayern Munich also want to give Toni a final salute to the supporters.

He has been invited to Munich for their last home game of the season against Hannover 96.

His farewell to the fans is part of the protocol for their Bundesliga title celebrations.

Toni turns 39 later this month and wore the Bayern jersey from 2007 to 2010, scoring 58 goals in 89 competitive games.

He won two editions of the Bundesliga, where he was also top scorer with 24 goals in 2007-08, and the German Cup twice too.

Fantastic gesture from Bayern Munich Thumbs up

Absolute legends. A proper sending off for them and I'm glad to see them both go out "on top" as the commentator put it, as opposed to sticking around until they're too old and too shite to be of any use to a good team anymore.

Wouldn't mind them coming to MLS tho

Feel bad for both especially for Xabi, one of my favorites of all time. I won't be able to handle however, Totti leaving tbh. Hope Roma plan something grand for the King of Rome.
