Saponara isnt as effective on the right as he in the middle, although i can see why Mangia opted for it, so he can get the best out of everyone else

Feel nervous for Italian players ffs. I'd hate more injuries in a game that's almost won.

Are you really surprised? this Italian team is all technique and passing lol.

Noo no lol, Israel, not Italy.

It's Verratti's show in the middle, make way as he parts the red sea with his skill

Indeed, he's too good to play for the U 21, wanted to see him gel with senior team so he can take over Pirlo later on

I cant wait until we pick up those Inter youngsters though Proud

We'll split the Inter young'uns between us and Genoa.

I want Verratti as well. Obviously he ain't moving now though. But in a couple of years.

I like it this way, allows him to really show his talent with other young players but I agree, he belongs with the senior team

Just read that Marrone is out for the tournament with a hamstring injury he picked up late in the game against England, that's why he did not play today. I'm upset for him

Bummer, well at least they found a workaround with Verratti and Florenzi in the middle today, hope Insigne can recover too

Mind you that flashes of yesterday's game keep popping up when i see the youngsters today with the Azzurri shirt Laughing

You mean the brilliantly worked, masterclass of a 0-0 against Czech Republic? That was inspiring football Proud

This U-21 team could probably beat the senior team (but not really, you can just see the talent and they play excellent football stylistically)

I love the way Italy have started incorporatingDuctch philosphies into their football. Hopefully there are no drugs involved. Partof my guilty pleasure during the course of this highly entertaining tournament has been to watch Italy.

Apologies for deviating from the thread title. The Dutch Under-21s are currently playing Russia. Hopefully we are able to capitalise on the current implementation of our footballing priciples that have been systemised throughout all levels of our national teams, not disimilar, but not quite as unified as Spain's current playing stle.

1-0 Wijnadlum goal from outside the box.

I am not happy with the goal because we did not impose our cherished philosophy but as in a Crujffian based system, where individuals are given the confidence to flourish, it was a goal worth the wait.

Tatctically this means that Russia will now be more susceptible to balls being played behind their defence seeing as they will have to go for winners now Smile

Great goal from Wijnaldum he's another one who could attract interest on the back of this tournament IMO.

Although it would be wise for his development to stay at PSV.

not happy with the goal? a goal is a goal, and it was a wonderful one at that. you need to ease off the cruiffian philosophy that you push in literally every post whether its relevant or not.

Not happy with a goal.

Are you a football fan or a Cruyff fan? Looks to me like it's strictly the latter.

Doubt it this time, with Thiago and Koke in the middle i expect a lot more controlled plan from Spain.

Tello should have been dropped for someone though Laughing

Germany U21 XI: Leno, Jantschke, Ginter, Thesker, Sorg, Rudy, Rode, Herrmann, Holtby, Clemens, Volland.

Perfect team. Thesker Germany's Tello Laughing

Sobiech is the better player proved at a higher level yet Thesker gets to play Laughing
