Not really, Serie A clubs have rarely broken the bank for signings. Recently there has not been enough money around to justify spending on 1 big name signing, secondly Calciopoli, and thirdly, Serie A teams more often than not prefer to scout the best talents and turn them into stars instead of buying big names.

Was going to make those points. What is true is that there is nowhere as much money in Serie A as there once was especially towards the end of the 90s.

Napoli needed a top replacement and they certainly got that.... although I cant help but feel Serie is very different and if Higuain will be suited there?

Dropped our interest to pursue Suarez is better wording i guess.
