In an ideal world, Higuain and Benzema would have made a nice partnership. That ideal world came crashing down the day Real Madrid signed Cristiano Ronaldo. Anyway, I'm a huge Higuain fan. I think his character, drive and talent scream Madridista and yes, that man is quite talented. However, as I've written on so many websites before, Real Madrid should have hired an on field psychiatrist or give him some rum to shot before a big game because his anxiety issues are most apparent.

With that being said, Benzema links with Ronaldo a lot better than Higuain. Why, because Cristiano is a vacuum that sucks up the majority of scoring chances and dear Gonzalo is an out and out striker. Not a CF, not a false 9. not a deep lying play making box to box left back goalie but a cold blooded striker who needs a good chunk of those scoring chances that Cristiano monopolizes for himself whether intentional or not.

If you asked me to choose, it would be Higuain but the club clearly sees differently. Like Izzy, I would be on Benz's case from match day one. I hope that fat ass proves me wrong...

You guys are funny. Have fun deceiving each other in this thread.

I love them both - they would make a fantastic partnership amd won't engage in a debate about them because they compliment each other perfectly.

I will however highlight the nonsense Izzy is spewing.

1. He has been a secure starter for maybe 6 months in 3 years (unless you don't think he deserved it then either). During that time the coach has insulted him publicly.

2. He's routinely ignored by his teammates on the pitch...just watch a game. A particularly salient example is when Kaka is on the pitch.

3. Higuain has not had it any easier.

4. Be on him with unrealistic expectations. It doesn't particularly matter. The structure of our team scarcely allows him to be a striker far less the best in the world.

I don't care to blame him Jibs. He is a player - greedy as hell - but still not responsible for organizing the team into one which will get the best out of all the players on the team. If I'm desperately trying to stay w/ Messi the last thing on my mind would be how to get the best out of my forward partner.

I think with the right attitude and direction they would compliment each other well anyway.
