More chance of Montolivo modernizing his website than us signing Fabregas

It's Barca so it might just happen. They'll probably give you 30 million extra if you give them Balotelli or something.

Don't think we are gonna be able to shed more than 20-25 m for a big name, our transfer budget last summer was 20 m
I dont think we are gonna exchange one of our players for Fab, Galliani has stated that no one of this new Milan will be sold.
As much as i'd love to have Fabregas, i think we have more pressing matters in our backline and Goalie

Don't think height is a big a problem as people claim.
Puyol isn't exactly tall and he did fine till he got old.... lack of organisation, pressing and lack of quality up front and in defence are much bigger issues.
Is Alves-Pique-Puyol-Abidal a tall backline? i don't think so and it was always a very solid one.
Lack of quality combined with poor coaching and tactics are the issues.

of course height/set piece defending is an issue,Barca are getting bullied in aerial battles and that happened even back with that 2010 defense to a lesser extent.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Don't think height is a big a problem as people claim.

They were never abused under Pep from set pieces....
Name me a big game were they conceded from a set piece under Pep.
The biggest problems are what i named and going from Puyol and Abidal to Bartra and Alba.

.
Like all the clasicos in 2011-2012 ?
Against AC milan Thiago Silva 90 min goal?
Copa del rey winning goal ? Ronaldo out jumping poor adiano? many many goals they conceded with out Abidal in the line up.
Having Abidal was a huge boost for them.He was pretty good in the air.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread
Several Premier League clubs have been put on red alert after highly-rated Basel defender Aleksandar Dragovic hinted at a possible summer switch to the top flight of English football.
The Austria international has caught the eye of both Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino and Everton manager David Moyes with both coaches looking to improve their back lines over the summer break.
And now Dragovic, who suffered Europa League heartbreak in the semi-finals against Chelsea, revealed he has been in contact with compatriot and Aston Villa midfielder Andreas Weimann, who has made a move to England sound hugely appealing.
"I regularly speak to Andreas, who has told me a lot about how much he enjoys playing in England," the 22-year-old told The Sun.
"It’s competition at the highest level, which is what I'm looking for.”
Sporting director Georg Heitz has suggested, however, that anyone in the Premier League looking to capture the defender’s signature faces “a tough fight” to ensnare him.
Dragovic, though, seems keen on a move away from Basel and appears eager to test himself in the Premier League, which he believes is one of the most reputable in the world.
He added: "The fans are fantastic, and the clubs command a lot of respect around the world."

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread
Well, Drago is talking of leaving Basel for a while. I think he is quite okay, but he will probably have some work to do to get used to the PL game. I hope he won't get the same problem as several other former Swiss players (okay, he's an Austrian, but I meant he played in the ASL for a while) outside the Super League who are often warming the benches.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread
I'd welcome Puyol with open arms, he's a leader at the back and can organize the defense. If he joins and we're bringing Ogbonna then i can see him play the Nesta---Silva like role, hell he can even mold him into becoming a better CB kinda like how Nesta taught TS

Nice, that means we have some chance then.
Shame no intrest in Marquinhos though, he looks talented.

Bartra is good in the air, but I get what you mean. Both sides are right here.
The level of organsation is not on point at all, doesnt look practiced and organised. We fundementally defend them bad.
But we still do lack height.
Abidal, Puyol, Pique, Busquets/Yaya, Henry/Keita (one of these usually played not both) and Ibra has turned into Pique, Busquets and...I guess Mascherano smh

Seems like no legend wants to retire at their own club in La Liga lol
Raul, Pep, Hierro....
Not that surprised if true, always felt something for Milan...also, hes a part timer who we clearly feel obligated to "rely on" even though he is unreliable. Maybe we will get a 2nd CB now...or maybe this just means Mascherano is more important than ever according to coach/board

Would be a good signing IMO if its true and they can keep him fit.
As ES said he's a fantastic organiser at the back if they can get a younger CB like Ogbonna that is a massive upgrade to what they have and a good mix of experience and youth.
But i would still be surprised if it actually happens, Puyol is just one of those players you don't imagine in another jersey.
Mind you i said that about Raul....
