This ganso distraction has really taken our attention away from signing quality players on cheap, e.g sahin. Wats the point, when we've been chasing this guy for almost a year, but every attempt to sign him has been futile. The earlier we forget about ganso, the better for our mercato. Am all for vidal as our LCM. (mehn, only if we got sahin at a bargain Mad )

Montolivo can play at any role, but it's true he has comparisons to Pirlo.

Who do you think could replace Yepes and Nesta when they retire?

Matias Silvestre would be a fine player.
Young, strong and has been playing Serie A for 2 or 3 years so he'll be well conditioned.

The other I reckon could be Mertesacker.
Werder cant afford to keep him so we could get him on the free or really cheep. Plus he's only 26 (not so sure but about that age) and has a strong physical presence similar to Yepes.

Thats 2 very good defenders who are well aged and would not be expensive

Also I was gonna say Ogbonna but his price-tag is stupid for such an unproven player.

Reports are saying Silvestre will arrive at the end of next season
And I suggested Mertesacker because he will be a free agent at the end of next season

“The second non-EU slot is available to us. We’ll see how we could move, maybe only in January. In South America, in some cases, it is best to do business during the winter rather than in summer,” Galliani said.

Allegri then added: “Ganso is a very good player, he could be the right one. Ganso played well in the last game. He’s a young player with great quality, but should be followed and not be judged by single games.”

This is getting frustrating.

As I mentioned Mr.X will only be a Mezzalla.

Ruled out:

Pastore
Hamsik
Fabregas
Ganso (for january)
Asamoah
Schwieni
Nasri

I am failing to see us pulling a Ibra- Robinho fiesta. Sad

Good news is that the Berlu fine will not affect us.

Like I said at the beginning of this whole hunt for Mr. X, the player we get will probably not meet everyone's expectations. I still believe we will get him but it won't be some "Star" signing.

I also mentioned before in the "Guess the squad" thread that Ambrosini will probably end up playing beside Van Bommel, Looks like I will be correct. Cool

Cassano is staying, Strasser is surely gone, probably on Loan

Galliani:
Somebody will have to leave, the ideal number is 25-26 players,” he said in today’s press conference – which officially opened the 2011/2012 season – when asked about the number of players he wants. “[Antonio] Cassano will stay because he’s one of our big players; I talk of players like [Rodney] Strasser.”

No biggie I figured he would be leaving on loan, and then eventually a transfer.
