Don't worry mate I can probably tell you the same amount about Thiago Alcantara (spelling?) as you can tell me about Poli

There's absolutely nothing concrete I can find about Poli being signed by Milan.

Milan, Inter want Catania's Lodi

Source: Tuttojuve.com via ForzaItalianFootball.com

Link: http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2013/05/catania-director-admits-offers-are-pouring-in-for-star-midfielder/

Catania director Giuseppe Bonanno has confirmed AC Milan and Inter have made offers to land Francesco Lodi in the upcoming transfer window.

The 29-year-old had been linked with a move to the Nerazzurri in January, and interest in the midfielder has reignited with offers pouring in for his services.

“As of today, we can say that there was interest from Inter in January and there is currently a request on the table from Milan,” Bonanno told Tuttojuve.com.

“Juventus have not made an official move, at least with us. We have not received any offers from the Bianconeri, but I can’t rule out their interest in the player.”

“Price-tag? That will be decided by the market and by the competition. We cannot sit down and talk about a precise figure right now.”

I'm against this signing even though Lodi is an alright player because he doesn't fit with the youth philosophy and he would probably cost way more than he's worth.

The Juventus fans found out that there was a young Italian midfielder whose name was Andrea Poli who had long flowing hair and naturally assumed that he must be Pirlo's heir.

His style of play is quite similar to De Rossi when he takes on a box to box role, capable of spreading the play but often looking to drive the ball forward himself. He's improved his defensive game markedly over the past two years to better use his physicality and has begun to slowly add goals to his game, though most of his strikes came this year when used in a more advanced position. He will provide a creative option should Montolivo be injured, however for the most part he will be used to complement rather than deputise for Riccardo.

A player such as Lodi could be an excellent deputy for Montolivo if he were willing to fight for minutes from the bench, though if the management is willing to let Cristante assume this responsibility then I'd prefer to give him the breathing space he needs. If he's not to be used much then Lodi provides an experienced option from the bench who won't stand in Cristante's way as they both age and he'd add another set-piece specialist to the side.

It's Gazzetta though, so the deal could potentially range from official to purely fictional.

Thank you. Makes sense now.

You think this summers marquee signing will be Alexis Sanchez? He's been a bit of a flop at Barcelona so far and may be surplus to requirements if the rumours about Neymar are legit.

An Ibra-esque cut-price deal might already be in the works knowing Galliani.

It might work out, but he's been linked to Juve/Inter more than us tbh. I'd rather we strengthen other areas before we spend on attack, mainly the midfield and defense needs a bit more attention

It's hard to tell if we'll jump in for Sanchez, as even though we haven't been linked to him in any serious manner, he fits neatly into our transfer pattern having played in Serie A before, likely dropping from the first team at his club whilst providing a young and hard working option for our right wing. As SES said though, Juventus and Inter will present major stumbling blocks to any transfer. He certainly won't be Juventus' first choice in the transfer market, however Juventus will in all likelihood find themselves lowering their standards once more in which case we might see a late push for Sanchez if he does not transfer early. Inter are potential candidates as well as they look to reduce the age of their forward line, however if they do end up purchasing Icardi then I doubt they will have the funds to acquire both in one window.

I can see us potentially trying to bundle Alexis and Bojan, we're apparently eagre to retain Bojan but unwilling to pay anywhere near the 15 million buyout clause.

Personally I'd rather see the money we would spend on Sanchez go to further bolstering our midfield and defence, however old habits die hard and despite the fact that there is no real need, I do feel that we'll see a notable addition to the forward line if Robinho leaves which is highly probable.

Given the fact that Calvano sustained a rather serious knee injury last year and has no real prospect of staying with the team next year, it would be a good use of his contract. The majority of our youth players will never make it and for whoever leaves, Sampdoria is a good destination.

I'm still far from getting excited about this deal however, I'll believe it when it's made official.

Whilst they have some similarities between them , their most common factor is that they are both very flexible with regards to roles in the midfield. I imagine that if Poli does come ,will find himself without a doubt next to Montolivo. Allegri must like him very much as a player , he's very flexible in the midfield , marks players well , cutting edge decisions near the midfield area and he's intelligent with the ball up front.

Can't wait to find out if it's true , but many sources today claim it's a done deal. It's Gazzeta mostly makes a big deal out of it, though the player did say he was a Milanista as a kid.

"Poli unaware of Milan deal"

Andrea Poli says he knows nothing of the rumours that Sampdoria have sold him to Milan in a €6m deal.

The Italian international was thought to be a target for Juventus, but reports suggest that the Diavolo have beaten the champions to the 23-year-old.

“I’m asked about my future a lot,” he told Samp News 24. “But I don’t know what will happen. I’m happy here at Samp so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.”

Poli, who is contracted until 2014, is set to leave the port outfit after Inter opted against signing him outright last summer.

“That was a delicate period of my career,” the midfielder continued. “Inter didn’t take up their option to keep me, but that is water under the bridge now.”

thats one absolutely beautiful team. young, skilled, and 8 italians in the starting lineup.

ogbonna-sakho-perin-poli. these 4 guys would make us contenders right away for any competition. i say that to get all 4, it would cost us about 40M (maybe even less if we include a couple of our primavera players for the perin/ogbonna/poli deals). 15 for ogbonna and sakho. 6 for poli and 4-5 for perin (cuz its genoa Razz) and with all the dead weight we will sell in the summer, and a couple of sales (robinho) im sure it will be significantly less than 40M. cmon Galliani! get the **** IN!!!!!!!!!!

If we get a right winger (galliani has said we will), Poli, and another defender I don't see us making that many other moves. Right now I see it looking like this.

I think Milan was serious about Inler back in 2008 , but it never happened unfortunately. If an exchange could happen , then it would be ideal for Milan . I can't say the same for Napoli , because Nocerino and Inler aren't exactly clones on the field Laughing

In transfermarkt it says his contract ends in 2016 , so you can scratch that , we would need to pay at least 10m+Nocerino . I'd like Inler and i am sure Galliani did too, but i don't think he would agree to such a deal for Inler these days.
