Re: Official 'Corner kick' Hatred thread
I miss when Barcelona had the likes of Rafa Marquez Puyol Yaya Abidal Milito defending corners, now there is no one any decent ball in is basically a free header

Re: Official 'Corner kick' Hatred thread
At one point we could of had Ibra at the front post, Henry in there, Abidal, Puyol and Pique, Yaya and Keita.
That was pretty nice, six 6 footers and Puyol.

Puyol has/had a great vertical leap as well so that was pretty damn solid.
We currently have Ronaldo at the near post, Coentrao, Khedira, Varane and Ramos in the middle and Arbeloa at the far post, sometimes Di Maria or Marcelo on the line. Guys like Alonso and Ozil, position themselves so that they get the ball and start counters.

We've gotten better tbf mostly because we're starting to focus again. Before we were like being on autopilot during turbulence lol

Your glass is always half full huh Zeal. Every time I see a free kick I usually mutter "F-ing goal, watch and see" or "f-ing Ramos". Suffice to say, we have kinda gotten a bit better but it's like saying you're 20/100 rose to 40/100.
Kinda still failing

Did some research and apparently Puskas once scored direct from a corner with the outside of his left foot against Atletico Madrid in the 60's
I'll try to find a clip.

Can't argue with that last goal we scored from a corner was September 2011 against Wolves

Re: Official 'Corner kick' Hatred thread
Found the Puskas goal I was talking about, what a golazo ffs
In the same vid there is another amazing one from Baggio
Start at 9:05 for Baggio's goal and 10:27 for Puskas's goal.

Re: Official 'Corner kick' Hatred thread
That corner kick goal that Opta count wasn't even one btw
We took a corner it got cleared back to the half way line, we hoofed it back in and scored
We technically haven't scored from a corner in the league since September 2011
We did score one against Braga the other day though

i cant remember the last time we conceded a set piece goal lolSushi Master wrote:Probably because big teams have enough quality players to not have to rely on them, and don't dedicate much time in set pieces as in comparison to other areas of the game.
There's nothing tighter than an Arsenal fan's bunghole during set piece defense, so I share your pain

Re: Official 'Corner kick' Hatred thread
Every time Liverpool gets a corner all I think about is hopefully we don't concede on the counter. We're useless at them. It's even worse when we concede a corner because our team is horrible in the air.

How could defenders score goals without corners?

Agger style. Dribble the ball from defense and arrow one to the top corner from 35 yards out.AltoZ wrote:How could defenders score goals without corners?
