La Liga Team of the Season

Cicinho - Pique - Godin - Alba
Isco - Busquets - Iniesta
Messi - Falcao - Ronaldo

Pretty good lineup though don't think it will control the game with those two in the middle...

Anyways, that looks good BC although tbh I haven't seen as much of La Liga as I did the season before. Surprisingly my only questionable pick there would be Pique, at least in terms of the bigger matches which I have been able to catch this season.

Not sure, but hasn't Falcao not done as well as he did in the first half of the season?

Honestly I think he he started all league games he'd have much better numbers. He's a beast in the league and usually delivers. Don't think he should be in the team of the season though.

Kudos to OPTA for mentioning Martinez, I think he's been very good for La Real this season.

Yeah if you need some degree of consistency to be on the team of the season then I agree.

Ronaldos had patchy form as well, doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to be there.

Alves and Ozil are deserving are their places as is Higuain pls name a better option for those positions at least if you're going to hate

Manager: Montanier

Martinez has been the best RB in La Liga without a doubt. An absolute dynamo this year for La Real.

Laporte? Since no one watches Athletic Club, no one will know that Laporte is amongst Varane and Sakho as the best young French CBs and has been a tower of class and skill in a torridly performing Athletic Club defence this year. His calm, technique and intelligence is one that is amazing for someone who is only 18. Amazing Centre back.

Iñigo is another who tips just above Gonzalez mainly because he exudes so much class in attack with his fearsome skill and ability to playmake from the back. If Pique has a heir to his Espana throne, expect it to be taken by Iñigo. A masterclass this year to help La Real's defence and is a complete CB.

Damia tips it over Aurtunexte and Jesus Gamez after a very consistent season with Osasuna and attacks very well it must be said. Cannot be excluded.

Beñat I chose over Alonso mostly because how his exploits have almost carried Betis' midfield and has been a joy to watch in his all round play and excellent playmaking. Wonderful season and player.

Busquets? It was a harsh and difficult choice over Illaramendi who has been almost as good but Busquets has taken it to another level this year. Illaramendi a close second.

Iniesta has turned it up this year for Barca and has simply been outstanding. Not much to be said this year.

Preito? After Messi he has been the best player in La Liga for me. Going under the radar for years, yet people notice him only when La Real turn it up under Montanier. I've ran out of superlatives to how good this man has been in his new central role to which he has replaced the leadership of Aranburu and loves to play in big games as well. MOTM v Real and Barca. How he isn't called up is beyond me.

Messi is obvious and so is CR. Not much else here.

Montanier? Not only he has gotten La Real to 4th place and fighting for a CL spot, but has played what is the most attractive football in all of La Liga this year. His team is a joy to behold since he embraced Sociedad's Basque roots and revamped his system over the summer. Wonderful manager who may be stubborn, but is truly a genius.

I agree completely except i prefer Demechelis or Inigo to Ramos

But as i said i haven't watched as much as i'd like to this year so my view might be skewed a bit.

Busquets was not an easy choice for me either, he has been inconsistent and frankly dropped a level from the previous year, but I have not watched enough RS to warrant the place to Illaramendi

Also Iraizoz? Didn't he get booed by his own fans?

Arq with the Basque Hipster team

I think Laporte and Ingio have great futures Arq but I wouldn't put them in a team of the season over Barca's Madrid's Malaga's and Atleti's best CBs. Perhaps in the future

Not going to comment on Damia I simply haven't seen enough of him this season, mostly because I only watch Ossasuna games when Madrid play

Benat and Prieto are a joy to watch, I have them in my special mentions list

Montanier has done a great job at La Real so far so I agree with having him as coach. He's up there with Pepe Mel, Pellegrini, Simione, Tito and Jose. Bielsa would be in the list as well if he were a better man manager
