How many top/world class XI's can Spain and Brazil make?
Spain and Brazil gotto to be the most talent making countries in football. It's amazing Spain have world class players in their bench. Brazil have so many top players in Europe, u keep losing count of it.
How many top teams/XI could they field if they were allowed to do so in an international competition?

World class? One, each.
In fact Spain could make one world class XI, Brazil could probably make like 2/3rds of one.

Not so sure about the third. Pato is the best Brazilian striker out there IMO.

This is one of the best NTs out there, so yes it is world class.main difference between this nt and every other one is that our core is made up of u22 players

Re: How many top/world class XI's can Spain and Brazil make?
Spain's 2nd choice defense and forward line would not be anywhere close to "World class". They have tons of great midfielders but how many great strikers and defenders do they really have? Not enough to field 2 or 3 teams. Brazil's team nowadays certainly has talent but have they been consistent enough to warrant that title? Not really.
So I agree with viva.

well,a XI =/= a national team.BarrileteCosmico wrote:Spain's 2nd choice defense and forward line would not be anywhere close to "World class". XI is more based on the amount of quality players not if they would work together and what not

Brazil still can't fill each and every position with a world class player. They can fill all positions with very good players, but world class is something I reserve for the special ones.

Re: How many top/world class XI's can Spain and Brazil make?
I guess that depends on the definition of world class.
Also, at least imo, Germany and Spain's starting 11 are not made up of world class players.

Re: How many top/world class XI's can Spain and Brazil make?
Kießling could easily go head to head with most international strikers. And Schürrle can comfortably be moved to LM.
Though if we assume that Klose isn't injured, he heads team #1s attack.
But even there, the first team has Schmelzer and Höwedes who aren't world class, in team two only Kroos and Gomez are world class, and Gomez is only world class as long as he's getting good service within the penalty box.
Team 3s only WC player would be Klose, in your version. Though Holtby and Leitner will get there.
It's a team that would still qualify, agreed, but only the 1st team is WC, and even there you can argue over Khedira nad Höewedes, while Schmelzer clearly isn't up there. And Hummels has more lapses than someone we call "world class" should have.
Neat teams, but world class? Not so sure.

Re: How many top/world class XI's can Spain and Brazil make?
Not the entire eleven. But they only have 2 or 3 players that are not in contention to be WC: Howedes, Schmelezer and Khedira for Germany and Arbeloa, Pedro, and Alba for Spain. Compare that to other NTs and there would be a lot more. Besides, as a collective, these two NTs are a head above the rest imo.Ganso wrote:I guess that depends on the definition of world class.

Thats basically about 3-4 non world class players on our team.but then again,it returns to the "what is 'to be' considered world class?" problem

Re: How many top/world class XI's can Spain and Brazil make?
Sure but like I previously said, Brazil don't play like a WC team. They're in consistent, in transition. That is far more important to me. Also, Hulk and Cesar is stretching the meaning of WC for my taste.

This thread shows Spain's depth as far as how many XIs could start and still be decent. Someone should make a brazil edition

Re: How many top/world class XI's can Spain and Brazil make?
All of the 4 best national sides could make 2 top teams in my opinion.
SPAIN:
1. Casillas - Arbeloa, Ramos, Albiol, Carvajal - Alonso, Martinez, Fabregas - Cazorla, Llorente, Silva.
2. Reina - Apzilicueta, Puyol, Pique, Alba - Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta - Torres/Pedro, Villa, Silva.
GERMANY:
1. Neuer - Lahm, Mertesacker, Badstuber, L. Bender - Schweinsteiger, Khedira - Muller, Ozil, Reus - Gomez.
2. Adler - Boateng, Howedes, Hummels, Schmelzer - Gundogan, S. Bender - Gotze, Kroos, Podolski - Klose.
ITALY:
1. Buffon - Barzagli, Bonucci, Peluso - Maggio, De Rossi, Pirlo, Nocerino, De Sciglio - Balotelli, El Shaarawy.
2. De Sanctis - Ogbonna, Cannavaro, Chiellini - Abate, Montolivo, Verratti, Marchisio, Giaccherini - Giovinco, Di Natale.
BRAZIL:
1. Cesar - Alves, Luiz, Alex, Maxwell - Ramires, Gustavo - Lucas, Hernanes - Neymar, Damiao.
2. Alves - Maicon, Silva, Dante, Marcelo - Ganso, Leiva - Diego, Kaka - Ronaldinho, Hulk.
SPAIN:

Re: How many top/world class XI's can Spain and Brazil make?
apparently some people have a very loose definition of world class.
@likeastar... im not trying to be a dick or anything but out of the 9 XIs you posted, 1 of them is and 2 of them are CLOSE to being World class XIs. Spain can make 1, with some leftovers. Brazil cant make 1 full WC lineup, and neither can Germany.
People... World Class is not just big names... This is not a WC XI:
Alves - Maicon, Silva, Dante, Marcelo - Ganso, Leiva - Diego, Kaka - Ronaldinho, Hulk.
Neither is this...
De Sanctis - Ogbonna, Cannavaro, Chiellini - Abate, Montolivo, Verratti, Marchisio, Giaccherini - Giovinco, Di Natale.
Or any of the secondary and tertiary lineups that Likeastar made.
