Well its a friendly against Canada, and no need to risk an injury, when we need him more than ever. Our luck is never good when it comes to players playing meaningless games.MJGunner wrote:He's captain and in good form, why would they omit him?

No national team cares about what we need, if that was the case we'd have no players sent out this week

Re: International Watch
Watched Vermaelen with Belgium against Colombia. He is 28 now and still can't play the offside trap or simply stay in his own defending zone... when will we sell him? We must have a much better 3rd choice as backup for Mert and Koscielny. At this point even Sagna is a better option than him.

Re: International Watch
Hopefully Giroud will be on the bench aswell
On the other hand, Özil will most likely start for Germany against England and so will Mertesacker if he got over the flu.

Khedira & Eriksen among those injured last night. No Arsenal injuries (as of yet).
Khedira out for season.
Eriksen out for 6 weeks.

Re: International Watch
Ramsey not included at all for Wales against Finland. There's some suggestion that he might have flu (like every other Arsenal player atm).
It works out quite well since it's Wales' only fixture this international break.

Re: International Watch
I think you are being harsh on him, would be a big loss losing Vermaelen. Kos had a shocker also but as long as they can perform well for us I don't care.urbaNRoots wrote:Watched Vermaelen with Belgium against Colombia. On selling Vermaelen, only a top team can afford him with his wages, he will be with us until contract expires.

Re: International Watch
Arsenal's own international watch confirmed Ramsey missed today's game with flu. He was at the game, though, and didn't look ill at all, and Chris Coleman said he only lost him "24 hours before the game", so I'd hazard a guess that it was "flu".

Re: International Watch
Gibbs, probably the most in form left back in the country right now, is currently playing centre back for England's second string in training. Probably won't play tomorrow, either.
Makes you wonder why he was even called up.

Re: International Watch
I guess i'll put this in internationals. Draxler interview with BBC if you want to read it all ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24910729 ), but Arsenal related stuff here
Do you think Germany have produced more and better young players than England in the last five years?
(Background laughter) We have a lot of good young players in Germany and we have a very good national team. In English football we see many good players - like Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey (Draxler is interrupted and told that Ramsey is Welsh). (Laughs) Let's talk about Jack Wilshere…
What is the difference between the styles of Germany and England?
That's a difficult question to answer. I can speak about us. We have very talented footballers who play nice football, short passes, fast passes, and we have players like Mesut Ozil who can make a difference. The last games of England I didn't see. But my opinion is that they work football and we play football (laughter).
Would you like to play in the Premier League and do you think you are ready?
I like English football. I like the Premier League of course - it's one of the best leagues in the world. You have big clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea - of course it's a big dream to play for one of them. I have my favourite team, but at the moment I'm at Schalke. I don't want to talk about other clubs. If I state Arsenal or Manchester United, maybe I'd read it tomorrow in the newspapers (laughs).
