Where does Mata rank among the elite AM's?

I'd say these last 2 seasons he's made a legit case for being ranked among the Top 3 in the World.

Ozil, Gotze, Silva/Oscar are the best. Mata in the second tier IMO

Mata is miles better than Silva and Oscar.

Anyway he's definitely top 3 based on this season and probably at least top 5 overall.

its tough considering there are so many great AMs at the moment. iniesta, mata, silva, ozil, gotze, oscar, isco all have been great.

probably top 5 i would say.

I prefer Oscar over both of them, maybe not know, but next season there won't be any contest between them IMO, if he will work hard. He's too talented.

Don't know what to say about Isco. He has great close ball control, but his decision making and passing isn't that good. He has to improve in that aspect, but I don't think he'll be better than Oscar. Let Gotze out of this because he's in a different class, even if they are at the same age.

yeah top 3. Is Iniesta an AM? if no, then Kroos, Ozil and Mata are the current best. I think Gotze is more of a SS. he is quality and performs admirably but he doesnt play like those 3 guys.

Since in talent and ability there are many guys that are equal, only form matters so i wouldnt even mention Silva right now. And Oscar? he is not even elite yet, shouldnt even b in the conversation

Top 3 for sure. Chelsea always seem to be missing something when he isn't on the pitch. Unreal player and doesn't get the credit he deserves at times.

I know all 3 players very well from their La Liga times and although I'm not a regular EPL follower I'm watching most "big" games, most extended EPL highlights of interesting games and all Spain games and I don't think Mata is a better AM than Silva or Cazorla. He's just more direct (I wouldn't even call him an AM. A wing-forward or a SS maybe) and the argument that he's "far superior" than Silva reminds of the arguments of Fabregas being better than Xavi 2 - 3 years ago because Fabregas scored more goals and had more assists. lol

I like him, he's quality.

He'd make my top10, but top lists are retarded. He is definitely one of the best AMs out there, and I'll leave it at that.
