Re: Champions League Quarter-final draw discussion
Malaga have it in them to beat BVB imo. Should be a great match either way.
The greatest trollery would be Malaga winning the CL but UEFA not letting them compete in next year's comp

Madrid are so lucky. They'll draw Dortmund or Malaga next and we'll have gone through only one good team to reach the final.

Pretty much but honestly you could probably convince me to put Dortmund with Madrid/Juve.

Celtic beat the might Barcelona. Remember they are a football team from another dimension.

You should not be talking about lucky draws.Especially for the 10000th time you have the away leg first.

Don't blame free_cat he is only programmed to say and think what Cruyff and tiki taka tell him

Dat lucky draw against Benfica

Playing away first is a slight advantage as far as i'm concerned.

Re: Champions League Quarter-final draw discussion
Well if Barca don't score any goals in Paris then PSG will have the advantage imo.

btw, i think getting first leg away surely has some advantages.
I think NUFC took advantage of that against anzhi

Re: Champions League Quarter-final draw discussion
Imo playing away is much better. You do your best in the oppositions turf then you know exactly what needs to be done in your own back yard infront of all your own screaming fans. However, extra time on your own ground is the ultimate tension. Because 1 goal for the away team is literally a double goal. That's heart breaking.

Return leg at home is not an advantadge.
It's a myth.
Statistics prove it.

Shaktar tough. You've got to be kidding.VivaStPauli wrote:Dortmund deserve that break TBH, after group of death (and topping it, no less) and a tough Shaktar (the 3-0 doesn't really reflect how that game went) they really can do with a tie that isn't insanely hard.
Not that Malaga are scrubs. Though I secretly like to think they really are.
Would've preferred Bayern-Malaga and Dortmund-Galatasaray for the trollery of it.

Re: Champions League Quarter-final draw discussion
shakhtar lost a whole lot of danger with Willian leaving. He was such a handful for any team, they have some good players but he was the star player.
It would have been a much closer tie had Willian been around considering I watched shakhtar 4 times in the group and Willian was at the heart of nearly everything.

What's lucky about drawing a team that slapped yo ass back home in the group stages?
Even if Real should realistically be favorites in a 2nd meeting, that is a huge psychological advantage.
And TBH it would really weird me out if Malaga progresses, though I guess everything is possible now.

Dortmund don't stand a chance vs. Madrid.
They profited from a very out of form and conflict ridden Madrid at the begining of the season.

As I said, Madrid would be favorites.
But "don't stand a chance"? You wanna switch names with Ninis or anything?

Re: Champions League Quarter-final draw discussion
Juve vs Bayern should be a good game. Bayern will probably dominate possession and will have to try and get past a solid Juventus defense. Can't see many goals in this fixture, since both teams are good defensively.
Malaga vs Dortmund. I think Dortmund will be too much for Malaga. However Malaga can kinda cause an upset.
Barca vs PSG, Barca will most likely go through. However PSG have good players to counter-attack and cause Barca problems. They're also fairly solid defensively.

Re: Champions League Quarter-final draw discussion
Martinez would be brilliant, because he's kind of a bully. Really helpful against players like Vidal. But Gustavo will do fine. Though is Martinez even really suspended? I don't remember him being in danger of a suspension.
