Yeah, I'm definitely not saying he wasn't good. He was arguably the best prospect at the time in a very good Valencia side. Injuries definitely killed his career or he would of went on to play for someone like Madrid. Aimar was also key for the Valencia side that went onto win the league with Rafa.

I don't know, maybe it's just me seeing Coutinho now at an age where I can understand the game alot more than when I was younger and hardly remember watching Aimar play. I only used to watch Liverpool back then and if I was lucky catch a couple of Liga games.

Sahin's done nothing wrong. He didn't start at Real Madrid because of an injury and then being a backup for Alonso.

At Liverpool I guess it was just a tactical issue.

Coutinho, Sahin and Lucas in a 4-2-3-1 would have worked well imo.

Yea he does have a bit of Aimar in him

No, at LFC it ended up being an attitude issue. Sahin was getting game time AND doing a solid job, but decided he was too good to work for the team rather than the other way around, so he had himself a little pout to the media and ended his chances with the club prematurely.

Coutinho hasn't been playing in the CAM spot though, or in any of the CMs in the 4-3-3. We've been using him as one of the wide players pretty consistently. So if, somehow, Sahin decided he wanted to actually try for us, AND gerrard somehow got benched despite his incredible form and history, we'd still need to be playing Coutinho in a different spot than we are now. Lot of changes to make to the lineup to include a player who has been benched everywhere he's played for the last year.
