FIFA 14 discussion

Of course my observations are based on multiplayer. I haven't played FIFA on single player since 2008.

Loving the changes, especially the different feel to the game. Pace abuse has been toned down a bit and the game feels much slower which is a huge plus. Actual build up play is finally possible now. (y)

1, 8 and 9 annoy me

I like what they have done with through/reverse passes, they are much, much better, you can actually split defenses without needing 10 meters of open space to pass it between.

jury is still out on this version for me, either way, if I get it, I'm getting it on the next gen consoles

I really cannot way to take this game online. Each time I play the game, I find myself enjoying it even more.

Things just seem more realistic to me and in my opinion it's due to the tweaking of the players physics (movements especially). My biggest issue with Fifa has always been on the defensive side of things....I cannot count how many times I tackle the ball just to see the opponent get possession right back. I have not noticed this in the demo and while I have only played 20-25 games (a small sample size), I think this won't be as much of an issue.

For my fellow dribblers...

I said this earlier, but I will say it again, you can actually beat defenders on the dribble in this demo. I'm not saying you could not dribble past defenders in Fifa 13, it is just that the defender would not be phased (for lack of a better word) by it.

Not sure why this keeps happening. I have the ball as the fullback, try and pass to the winger and instead he keeps running away, resulting in the opposition getting the ball.

Are you hitting the L1 button? That is used to send players on a run...

Nah, the wingers make too many runs compared to previous FIFA's. Hopefully that can be sorted in the full game through custom tactics.

That video just looked like the player tried to make a run for a pass... you just failed at the pass

I'll agree sometimes the wide men are too far up. Playing LM in a 442 Pastore had like 3 offsides 1 game.

FFS, MT step up your game. We can't have you making mistakes like that, for co-op seasons

First game I played I couldn't really tell a difference at all between 13 and 14 tbh

the gameplay is quite different from 13.Specially when it comes to running, thank god

I think that must've been a typo because 13 to 14 has the biggest noticeable difference in years.

Personally not a fan, need to try the PS3 version, downloaded the Xbox version on a whim as I don't normally use Xbox for FIFA. However, it seems like the game itself "looks" better from the visuals and cut away scenes, but the gameplay is worse than 2013.

I'll try and reserve judgment until I get my PS3 back and can give it a proper run through.
