No. Pique is Top 10. Puyol maybe 1-2 times per season has rolled back the years and thrn hes Top 10 too (possibly knocking Pique out of the Top 10), but thats very rare. Overapl, hes just a good defender at this point. Mascherano is extremely average and error prone, possibly the worst defender that a real CL calibre team regularly plays at this point.

On the Ballack note, he had a great career at Chelsea. Was an integral part of the team that got robbed by Barca in 08/09 and that lost on PKs to United in 07/08.

As RedO has said, a bidding war would (could) see the price rise. It's not about Ajax's position it's about Erik's demand. I simply don't see Liverpool as the only (or even the leading) club interested (or in need of) in a player of this caliber.

van Persie was in last year of his contract and he went for €28m.. at 29 years of age, with productivity of a couple of more years in general (for a striker). You think Eriksen, one of the hottest talents in Europe, scouted by many top clubs, will go for around €10m?

RvP was in his prime. He is still one of the best players in the world right now and has another year or two in him. He's single handedly well, with Rooney, won United the PL. He's basically paid back his transfer fee getting into the top four. United gets another 20m pounds on top of Europe qualification for winning the league.

Eriksen will go for around 12m Euros, yes. Even if a bidding war starts. He's had an average season and no big club needs him as of now. I'm sure if we declare his interest in him, DAgger and Suarez will persuade him to pick us. Even if we've been midtable, Liverpool itself still has a reputation as one of the best clubs in the world. Eriksen will be forcing a move come the summer - especially if Maher signs for them. This "hot talent" could of also went for Coutinho btw. Except he was a top talent. Many teams around the world knew about Coutinho. He came to Europe as a teenager and for the right reasons. He's rated by many not just in Europe, but in South America too. He had a very good season at Espanyol last season. And he wasn't getting too many games at Inter because their management is horrid, not because of his talent. Not many teams weren't prepared to take the risk to sign him and I guess we just exploited the horrible management at Inter.

Eriksen's sale value will be nothing around 20m Euros. You can quote me on that. He'll go for around 10m pounds. What's that in Euros? 12/13?

Yes, that's what I am saying. If Coutinho was enjoying game time at Inter, his valuation would've been close to €20m. But he didn't and therefore his valuation decreased as clubs thought he'll be a gamble and so he came comparatively cheap. Not the same case with Eriksen.
