I absolutely adore Newcastle but will be hoping for Metallist to go through since they are consistent top dogs to fear within the EL and always present a challenge to a team no matter who it contains. Therefore the inner Europa Leagualite hopes for Metallist to...... Galvanize themselves in their EL reputation and bring down the Geordies.

Really? That was by far one of the worst performances this season from us. Up there along with Stoke away, Arsenal at home, and Villa at home.

I didn't think you played that poorly, I just can't believe with all those chances not one of them found the back of the net.

Allen and Gerrard need to limit the space between the midfield and defense a lot more than they are.

Hulk and Danny getting far too much space in between the 2 CMs and 2 CBs.

The fact Lucas isn't playing is rather apparent at the moment.

Suarez misses another sitter, he could have had 3 or 4 easily tonight could easily come back to bite him on the arse.

Something about Russian chants that scare the shit out of me. Sound completely different from any other European chant (vocally) as they sound sinister and imposing. Like some Bolshevik chant meant to intimidate the Mensheviks and social revolutionists.

He's played quite well actually ( mainly because Allen and Gerrard are allowing him to drift in between the lines though) if it wasn't for Reina he would have a couple.

Half time. Even half and some fantastic chances missed from both sides as Suarez is a huge culprit here. Hulk has been Zenit's best player after being a thorn on our side (We need Abate). Need to improve whether the pitch is bad on not. Lack of defensive cover in the midfield is shocking.

Sterling can't use his pace (which is his only advantage at the moment) on this pitch so he is bound to be useless. Downing is at least getting touches but useless as usual.

Allen cannot function in the same role beside Gerrard especially when Henderson continues to drop deep you have little space for Allen to perform his role. Lucas should have started instead of Hendo for tactical reasons but nonetheless we will never see Allen perform beside Gerrard when Gerrard is performing this role.

Can't really blame him since he's not a DM but his passing and touch have also been horrible.
