Manchester City Enter Race for £88m Striker as Carlos Tevez Replacement

High-flying Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is preparing to enter the race for the signature of Porto striker Hulk once the January transfer window opens for business.


During the course of the Summer the Brazilian international attracted interest from a host of Premier League clubs including, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham after his impressive performances last season where he netted 36 goals which helped Porto claim the Europa League and Portuguese league and cup double.

Hulk has managed to keep up his incredible goal-scoring record this term having scored 10 goals in 17 appearances and it is now believed that Premier League leaders Manchester City are targeting the £88million striker as Carlos Tevez's replacement.

Speaking to the Sunday Express the 25-year-old's agent, Teodoro Fonseca said: "Five clubs have offered £40million and Porto didn't accept it,' he told the Sunday Express.

"Only if someone meets the £88million buyout clause – if it happened, it couldn't be blocked."
