Yeah but you should also look into the aspect when teams dont have that financial capability to pull off a big signing. And its not like we are signing some scrub. He'd be a massive upgrade over what we have. And i'm happy that Juve were actually able to beat out competition from PL clubs for his signature.I have absolutely no complaints really. From a financial perspective, this is a great transfer, infact an awesome one.

As a juve fan i hope we can get villa as well over the summer. Seems like he'd complement llorente perfectly. Then if isla starts performing we're good to go

I think they'll go far, but I don't think they are considered "contenders" for this edition.

In any case I think they would still lack a SS to partner up Llorente. Vucinic or Giovinco are not good enough.

Juve are better than United.

They looked convincing when they owned Chelsea then became only the 2nd team(The other been Barca) to beat Shakhtar in the Don Bass Arena. They dominated the game too.

Lol at people saying Juve aren't a world class team when they are easily better than any English team.

"Llorente, as the Juve fan stated, isn't in bracket of world class strikers in the world."

Lets see whether he is or not when he is playing for a world class team.I have a feeling he will be a huge success.

Juves forwards have to be able to come deep and link up play as well having a certain degree of playmaking ability which Llorente has.Last season Llorente done this very well, sometimes playing a false 9 role.

Like here:

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/8461642/llorente_vs_sporting/

Plus he gives them the option of a target man in the box and he is more clinical than Vucinic and Giovinci.

And comparing him to Darren Bent and Benteke. rofl

Just another EPL fanboy butthurt because Llorente had the audacity to turn down EPL money.

I dont know, but I am not saying one is better than the other.

But if I were to make an argument, I am sure the topic of them actually proving themselves in the knock out round might have something to do with it.

Llorente to Juventus tomorrow?

Spanish media report that Juventus will officially announce their deal with Fernando Llorente on Thursday afternoon.

The Bianconeri have confirmed they are in advanced negotiations with the player, whose contract with Athletic Bilbao expires in June.

This means he is free to discuss his future with any club and can sign a contract for next season.

According to Spanish sources, Juve are set to announce Llorente’s arrival tomorrow at 11.00 GMT.

They maintain that Juventus made several offers to Athletic Bilbao to buy the striker during the January transfer window, but were rebuffed every time.

By the way he's going to be earning lesser than what Bilbao reportedly offered him for the contract extension.

Maybe he's trying to prove a point that his decision to leave isnt money based.

should have brought him into the squad sooner tbh. i havent seen him play this season but he can be absolutely deadly for juve i expect.

just serve up plenty of crosses and llorente will tuck away a majority of them.

I think Llore improves Juve a lot. Most of you seems to think he doesn't. Yes, he is not a TOP TOP striker, but he is a great improvement on Vucinic.

He is not a very prolific striker, but unlike some forwards who go missing when the opposition is tough, he can make a difference against any team thanks to his great physique and heading. He can be unplayable at times. Also, he is the best player in the world bringing balls down IMO. You shoot a melon to him, he turns it into a ball.

Meh...Llorente is overrated. A striker with no left foot and inconsistent finishing.

Quagliarella beats him any day. If only he was a bit less selfish.

You are hereby implying that Llorente wont be an improvement over Juve's current attack ?

The Quagliarelal we had under Del Neri before the injury yeah maybe ...but he is not the same quagli anymore he will offer flashes and great goals but after that he'll be gone like he doesn't exist for few games. From what I've seen Llorente is great striker and if we sign Lopez we are set

Good record,it would be interesting to see this record compared to players the of calibre of Suarez,Aguero,Tevez,Higuian,Benzema etc

Not to mention Darren Bent.

He might have a good record but I always considered him a big game flop. I don't think you can put him in the same calibre as Agüero, Cavani or Higuaín. His aerial ability is certainly better than all those mentioned but I don't think he can match those names in terms of versatility.

Big game flop? He has scored vs. United, Barça, Real Madrid...
Not at all, precisely is the fact that he can play well vs. this kind of teams that makes me rate him more. His great phyisique and aerial ability makes him a threat vs. anyone.

Also he does have a decent left foot.

I disagree, and I have been watching him regularly (or had been, seeing how Aduriz has taken over this season).

No left foot? This a joke? He is an ambidextrous striker. If anything his left foot is superior to his right. Laughing

Right because you obviously didn't know Bielsa has fallen out with Llorente along with Athletic having no use for him since he was bound to leave next season. Aduriz would never bench him in any spectrum if Llorente didn't want to leave.

The big game flop comment has to be a joke considering his big game presence and clutch performances is what he is known for as if anything he fails vs the smaller teams.

You speak of Aguero who hardly does anything vs bigger teams while Higuain the EXACT same thing.

Llorente unlike them can lead a line, is creative and can carry a team on his back. Highly underrated if you ask me. One of the best False 9s in Europe.
