Funny thing is the wire wouldnt make it on my top 100 and i havent even seen 100 shows

RG, if you want to do yourself a world of good watch Lost over this. Lost would be rated so much higher by everyone if not for the last season, which is still enjoyable.

no one here is going to change anyone's opinion, so i'm guessing we should just agree to disagree and come to a general consesnsus that it's better for RG to watch Lost

I loved the show, watched it few times and it never gets old, but not the greatest show of all time.

I dont think I can pick the greatest show of all time, not easy.

My opinion of Lost: First 2 seasons were awesome, 3rd and 4th were good to meh, 5th and 6th were just lol-worthy.

Comfortably not in my top 10.

Nah i refuse Prison Break is one of the most overrated programmes to ever exist and when was the last time one season was good enough to be in someones top5 ?

I'll let people say Wire is best ever because its good enough to be in the discussion although a lot of series people have mentioned come from the same era which leads me to believe that peeps have not watched a lot of tv series or they are just taking about drama's from that period.

But Prison Break? pls.

Do y'all selfs a favour and watch real prison drama's which were outstanding for more than 1 season like Oz or Buried.

Also another thing which is a bit annoying you're all talking about drama's.... tv series go beyond the drama genre btw.

Without derailing the thread any further, I want to say Breaking Bad has possibly claimed the throne at the summit of GOAT list with Game of Thrones (possibly beating it in the future if season 3 and 4 live up to the epicness of the third book.

Anyway i believe people should rate shows on seasons of quality and not one season

Any fool can strike it lucky with one good season, but keeping it going for 4+ seasons is a sign of a quality show IMO.

Anyway i made my point, i'll leave it at that.

Swagger you're completely off the mark here imo.

The wire is excellent and you cannot judge it on the first 5 episodes you simply can't. It grows an evolves as the seasons go on. You sandwich analogy doesn't fit.

Omar, Stringer Bell, Jimmy Mc Nulty, Bunk etc. all amazing characters.

And I'm with Mole. Prison break was the greatest load of "shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit" (in clay davis voice) ever put on telly. Cheese of the highest order.

I don't think its fair judging a tv series based on 5 episodes

All i said that if you're going to do that i understand where Messiah was coming from because it did start slow IMO but like a fine wine it got better through the seasons.

Also Messiah mentions Game of Thrones, i haven't seen that yet

Game of Thrones is easily in my top 5. One of the best shows ever made

But it's not everyone's cup of tea because it's medieval n all.

Hey don't diss Game of Thrones. It's excellent too. Well until you read the books and realise they leave so much amazing stuff out and then the TV show is a disappointment by comparison.

On topic, the first few episodes have to be slowish to set stuff up, develop characters etc.
