What fanbase is most bitter about these new rich clubs? Arsenal, Bayern or United?
Mad about what? We are in every aspect superior to those plastic clubs.
It's just sad for Lyon or Marseille imho.

What is the difference between a club that makes money off its huge fanbase and a club that makes money from a rich owner?

Re: The Official Paris St.Germain Thread
Except PSG has sold out every home game next year and has a 20k waiting list for season tickets... so the club is not losing money.
And did i mention the €87.9 mil payroll?

Re: The Official Paris St.Germain Thread
It's like real life... there are people in school who have a holiday-job or a week-end job, work hard to earn their money they can spend, and there are people who sit on the couch 24/7 and get a new iPod from Daddy every week. And i hate the last ones
The other thing is tradition, for me football has so much to do with tradition, and i would rather see Liverpool, Arsenal or Lyon in the Champions league than ManCity or PSG, no matter who plays there.

Re: The Official Paris St.Germain Thread
Lyon has no tradition btw... PSG has a longer tradition than Lyon. Lyon's "tradition" started in the 2000s. They never won a trophy before that and were mostly in Ligue 2.
You have no idea what you're talking about so please keep quiet. Thank you.

Bayern setup a new company to keep their stadium costs off their books until they could pay them off no? Then proceeded to cry about clubs deficits. Germany seems like the takes corporate crime seriously, hopefully Hoeness rots in jail.

Re: The Official Paris St.Germain Thread
That analogy does not make any sense. Sure Bayern have a lot of history and tradition and have built up its fan base over the years.
But they have also had the fortune of being located in a major city and having a relatively rich fan base. In short, the club hit the location lottery while PSG were fortunate enough to be selected by its current owners as a worthwhile investment.
Both clubs work hard to get the players ready to fight on all fronts and win championships. So how is PSG like someone who sits on the couch all day?

Re: The Official Paris St.Germain Thread
PSG has had an avid following forever... the ownership just failed the fans for about 15 years. Here are the attendance numbers before Qatar entered the picture:
2008-09 - 40,9k average (86%)
2007-08 - 36,9k (77,9%)
2006-07 - 36,4k (76,5%)
This year, they're at 43,4k and over 90% capacity. Sold out next year. You're talking about an 6-7k fans lol.
This is not some unknown club. They won Europa in 1996 and were a finalist in 1997. They also reached CL semis in 1995. You have players like Ronaldinho, Pauleta, Rai, Leonardo, Suzic, Ginola, Weah, Simone, Djorkaeff, etc.
Most of you guys never heard of PSG because you need to be at least 30 to remember their last golden years...

Re: The Official Paris St.Germain Thread
you do realize that PSG was formed when Stade ST Germain, formed in 1904,
bought out and merged with Paris FC. The club is only 4 years newer than Bayern lol. Again, stop being ignorant. Tough for Bayern fans. But try..

Also, PSG was owned by Colony Capital before Qatar. Look them up. They've got a few pennies Just not willing to spend like the Qataris.
