Malaga fire sale Empty Malaga fire sale

Post by sportsczy Fri Dec 21, 2012 2:57 pm

So they are hit with a 4-year ban unless they fall within FFP. This is what happens when a rich investor loses interest (for whatever reason) and leaves the club to its own devices.

Anyhow, Malaga have to sell players. No question. And they need to do it in the winter since they have 3 months to rectify things before the sanctions become effective.

The likely players to move:
- Isco
- Toulalan
- Monreal
- Santa Cruz

I think all 4 of these guys are moved this winter. Pelli will resign this summer as well imo, and he's a great manager.

As far as who picks up who... I think Madrid pick up Isco. Flo loves him. Even if we can't play him in CL this year, he's someone we cannot let go.

Where would we play Isco? We already have Ozil for AM.

Isco only moved to AM this year because Cazorla was sold. He was just as good as a winger. He's our replacement for Di Maria.

Hopefully there's an appeal and the ban gets reduced. It's fair enough because they didn't pay their debts but this is extremely saddening and I want to say stupid.

At least stay until the end of the season so we can make a run in the CL.

After that you can sell whoever, Pelle will find and develop new people.

Arsenal spending in the excess of 20m..Seems legit.

A forward would do better right now for them.

Cazorla was brought in for 20m hmm

Although I do agree a striker is needed most.

it's a stupid decision from UEFA... If they deserve to be punished, they can be punished from next season.. There's no need to ruin UCL, by excluding them this year.. This qualification is the result of fair work of the players, they should let them finish it... Punish the scrubs responsible for this, not the players

Justice in football is fcked up anyway, nothing is surprising..

The ban is for next year. Thing is the CL qualification has basically ensured that all debts will be paid so I'm less worried.

4 years vs 1 year is a huge difference.

And it will still be appealed.

Isn't 17m (Isco's buy out clause) too much for Arsenal? :coffee:

£11.7m. Pellegrini confirmed it. He supposedly had a bigger exit clause (like Isco) but Malaga had to sell as soon as possible and Arsenal took advantage.

Same can happen with Isco but Arsenal have to convince him to join first. It's going to be harder because Manchester City, United, Madrid will be all over him.

Would be a brilliant signing no doubt. I would try to get Monreal too Twisted Evil

Now.... I feel sad for Malaga fans. Just after their most successful season ever they have to experience this.

Many Arsenal fans want Usmanov in.... and this is a great example why he shouldn't be even close to our beloved club.

Malaga owes wages to the players again... Despite that, the players are playing hard out of professional pride. UEFA had no choice but to come down on them. The fact that La Liga is doing nothing is the crazy part...

So what happens to Malaga? Are they not able to spend now for a while assuming they do offload some players?

His father wouldn't allow Isco to move to Real Madrid. He takes care of his son's development and already rejected a move to Barcelona from what I've heard. What's Isco going to do at Real? Turn into the next Sahin and be used as a leftback? Clean Özil's and € 40 million Modric's balls? Laughing

UEFA withholds 20 ME they owe Malaga in CL which would cover their debt to players and treasury and then bans them for failing to meet it. Hilarious. Desperate attempt to make an example out of them when its obvious the likes of City, PSG wouldn't be in such situation ever. Malaga are actually trying to live "within their means" and then they block the means. Not gonna fool anyone. The likes of City have indicated they'd move to court anyway if they are exempted from European competitions.

Why should UEFA believe that Malaga will be a "good boy" if they are left unpunished? They are only trying to live within their means now that they're out of pocket.
