Mata is not for sale & More!
Valencia President Manuel Llorente just spoke on Cadena SER, here are a few things he said...
"Juan Mata is not transferable. Under no circumstances will his output be provided"
"Isco has rejected the contract renewal we offered"
"All we need is a central defender, once that is done we are complete. Unless, there is an output"
Edit:
"Banega, I hope he stays. He still has much to give here and I told him so a few days ago".
"It's unthinkable that we would sell Aduriz. He too, is not transferable"

Yep saw that too.Perhaps thats why we are now chasing Downing.TBH it was always a long shot that we will sign or he will move from Valencia this season.
Have to say Valencia really has a very good team for next season.

come on now, "mata isn't transferrable under any circumstances" is quite different from "a deal for villa is unlikely"
terrifying interview though... isco not renewing a contract and us not signing a rb...

I agree with Che. They really need a RB. Degen is available at 200K, would be a great pick up for them.

Emery today on Cadena Sport:
"Valencia has to be prepared for a footballer having to leave, either because is he is not wanted or because some big club wants to sign him,"
"We want him to stay and Mata has also expressed his wish to remain at Valencia, but we know that if a big-money offer comes in from any club and it's good for both the player and the club, it could lead to his exit."

not implying that he will move or smtg, but after reading this itw, i remembered this thread and wanted to show that nothing is sure in football anymore. money is everything.

Re: Mata is not for sale & More!
Valencia do U-turn on Mata
July 21, 2011
Valencia have inicated they could now be willing to accept an offer for Juan Mata after previously insisting he is not for sale.
• Valencia claim Mata will not be sold
Mata has been linked with a move to Arsenal since starring in the European Under-21 Championships, after previously being linked with Liverpool, but talk of a Premier League switch was quashed by his current club ten days ago with president Manuel Llorente explicitly claiming "Juan Mata is not for sale".
However, the La Liga club, who cashed in on David Villa and David Silva last summer, now appear willing to cash in should the right offer come for Mata.
"The possibility exists that Mata will leave the club," Valencia manager Unai Emery told Marca. "We want him to stay and Mata has also expressed his desire to stay at Valencia, but at the same time we cannot stop a player who really wants to leave for money or for a bigger club.
"So, if there is a large financial offer from any club, that is good for both us and him, we will have to let him leave."
Tottenham are also believed to be interested in the winger, but Arsenal's potential to offer Champions League football next season is understood to put the Gunners as frontrunners for Mata's signature. Liverpool's move for Stewart Downing also suggests their interest will have waned.

thats not the point tho.sportsczy wrote:"Arsenal" and "large financial offer"... hmmm. Who here is sincerely optimistic given these facts...
what i wanted to point out is that before, Valencia was saying "he wont leave under no circumstances...",
but now its more like: "if a good offer came in..."
having said that, ofc the odds are still on him staying at Valencia

Re: Mata is not for sale & More!
Arsenal has like 3 weeks to buy people, I doubt they buy anybody. If anything I see Cesc leaving, and them giving new contracts to RVP and Nasri and calling them "two big new signings"
