Celtics were definitely a trio, can't forget Parish imo.

As far as pure duo, I've always had a soft spot for Stockton/Malone.

No way the C's were a 2 man group. Those 2 were the best two players easily dont get me wrong, but nah. Parish was great, Dennis Johnson was great.

Anyway, It Shaq and Kobe. 3 rings and the only reason it wasnt more was because of them, not anyone else.

Magic and Kareem a hair behind, and I mean literally it couldnt be any closer. Individually though Kareem was on way down.

Shaq and Kobe are the best combo of talent, ability at the time of the duo and winning.

Obviously thats a slight on Jordan, but Scottie just wasnt this calibre of player.

Kemp and Payton or Mailman and Stock win this if we are talking about duo's who actually worked together during the game.

I also dont like how you have not included Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars, Dr J and Moses nor Duncan and Robinson

Rondo's injury has deprived the Celtics of the "punchers chance" in a 7 game series.

Before, they were still unlikely to beat the Heat, but they had some level of a chance because Rondo can have 2 or 3 games in a series where he is literally the best player on the court. If you get that and you get the Celtics role players showing up and KG playing bigger minutes, allowing the C's to defend at a pretty high level...you get a punchers chance at winning a series.

Without him, its just not going to happen.

Regular season means dick. Even without Rondo they are more talented than the likes of Orlando, but when you play a team like the Heat 4-7 games...yeah its over. And Sullinger has to have back surgery I hear?

Yeah, Sullinger is out for the season. He's having(had?) surgery because of back spasms. That's the reason he dropped so low in the draft also. Really sucks, not even for this season but if he doesn't get that corrected it's going to shorten his career.

Lol so much butthurt on here. Clippers are 2-5 since CP3 went down and that's with one of the deepest squads in the League.

While the Celtics haven't missed a beat and even beat the defending champions with ease without him. Everyone was adamant they wouldn't even make the playoffs after he got done.

Pass first PG's are overrated. How many of them have actually led a team to a title.

Magic is the only one I can think of off the Top of my head and even he wasn't really a Rondo/Stockton type player. He could drop 20/30 points whenever he wanted but he played on a stacked team.

Give me Isiah Thomas/Chris Paul over Stockton/Rondo any day of the week.

Depends on the system.. A pass first point guard is great if you have a big time wing player or big man.. If you don't have much around then them looking to score isn't bad

I would rather have my primary scorer not be a PG.. That's my take

When CP3 ends up ringless like Nash will be, you will see why...Kobe, Lebron, KD are in his way.

CP3 nor Isiah were shoot first guys...dont confuse being able to score with shoot first. Isiah more so than CP3, but none the less they arent shoot first guys.

What these shoot first guys (Westbrook, Rose and others) dont see is they have the chance to shoot any time they want, they have the ball, however, someone has to make the offence run...the scorers need to be the scorer, the guys who rebound, set picks have to do that, the shooters have to shoot...someone has to get the offense moving.

You want to wear out your scorers by making them do that too? When the theoretic best passer on your team is jacking up shots?

Going 1-4 high like these guys want is well and good, but what happens Rose when we stick someone bigger than you and can stay in front of you in the last 5 minutes and you cant score the ball?


Oh yeah, Stockton > CP3 by a hair. Tougher, dont miss games, can shoot it at least as well, better on ball defender. Similar players but CP3 is more flashy (not saying ineffective mind) while Stockton gets it done the textbook way.

Biggest difference I see is Stockton was healthier and a better man on man defender.



But anyway, I am with swag on Iverson. The dude is a shooting guard, not a point guard..he played with a point guard for the Sixers, dont get it confused. He was one of those guys you can throw the % out the window, they are useless..they quantify what he did for the Sixers.

He took a team like Rose's Bulls..with less offensive weapons and the same stingy defence...took them to the finals while pouring in 30 a game and capable of dropping 40's and 50's if you dont act right.

Only offensive threat on the court, all the defenses knew it and still, maybe 6 feet tall, he gave you 30 and took you to the finals.

Iverson led Sixers were the only team to get a single game from those Lakers.

I believe it was towards the end of game 6 or game 7, I think there was a controversial call in the 4th and it had my commentator talking like the Bucks got the short end of the stick. Anyway, that series sounds intense, I did not have the privilege of growing up in a sports family and I shared a room with my brother growing up. It was not always possible to get access to a television and it is not like you could stream games (yes, be grateful for what we have today) - sad to know that my memories of that series come from a little walkman that picked up the radio.
