I doubt Cruyff could choose a 11 without thinking of how it would actually work on the field.

Even today he said, "I always want my striker facing the goal".

So, to me that means Romario (a 9) cannot play out wide where Garrincha is.

This doesnt really surprise me that much, the players are chosen based on how they would work in that system.

Two fullbacks and a centerback instead of a 3 centerbacks, a number 4 with a vertical midfielder and 3 distintive forwards.
