Not that Montolivo's bad, just that there have been some very mediocre seasons from him.

yes Montolivo is bad , you want to see how bad is he , just compare him to the players in his position before him at Milan

Arteta i know him from Everton but haven't seen a lot from him recently to judge , i guess i get an update duo to Christmas and Epl being the only football apart from friendlies

as much as i like Arteta but he tends to be big game Flop and montolivo even though is not as good as Arteta but manages to keep same level of performance . if i show on graph itll be much more clear . montolivo performance is a flat line and Arteta is a sinus

Montolivo has a lot more to his game than Arteta.Arteta hasn't done anything on the big stage unlike Montolivo who has performed against the very best in CL and Euros.Montolivo simply is more talented and has more to his game,more mobile,better passing,more creative etc

Borja Valero is another underrated Serie A midfielder,been one of the leagues best players this season,he has been Fiorientinas best player this season and has the most assists in Serie A with 8 assists.I would also pick him ahead of Arteta.

Arteta is a much poor mans Xavi at how they're both playing right now.Montolivo is the better player for me and I think he would have been way more helpful to Arsenal against Bayern both attacking wise and defence wise in my opinion.
