Seen 7 episodes. It is excellent. has a very modern feel of Smallville.

But what does everyone think of Stephen Amell's acting skills? Is he acting all that emotionless and bland or he is like that normally? I am not that impressed tbh but it might be his character.

I've been wondering the same thing about his acting. Its one of the things that are putting a lot of people off about the show. Anyways finally downloaded episode 4 going to be watching it today Smile

In first episodes of season 1 his acting was awful. but he did better later on and now he is doing better than season 1 but still not a great actor.

Amell is growing into the character very slowly. There are still some times when his character is extremely wooden. Oliver Queen pre-Green Arrow was a jokester and a playboy...Amell just doesn't seem that flamboyant where as Justin Hartley (Green Arrow from Smallville) did it almost flawlessly.

It's almost like a male version of Kristen stewart at times lol. But he has improved from the 1st ep to 8th.

I'm one of the few people who like Amell's acting. I think he does a fine job portraying basically three characters, pre-island Oliver, island Oliver and Green Arrow.

Isn't the whole point that he no longer gives a damn about his party lifestyle, and he's pretending to still be that man to avoid people suspecting him

So in theory, he should look awkward when he's pretending to be a rich bum.

In theory, you're spot on.

I'm just judging purely from the comics, from the Justice League cartoons and from the Green Arrow's arc on Smallville.

This show is completely different from all three sources which makes Amell "something else" as his Oliver keeps saying.

I don't think it's specifically negative, his take on Queen, it's just different from what I'm used to.

Damn! S02E04 was brilliant.

Some real emotion coming into the show now. I think Amell will just get better and better acting-wise. Sara coming back has sparked things up.

Do you guys blame Mr. Queen for screwing Laurel with Sara... Nah I don't. Sara looks BADASS! Thumbs up

Also can someone give me a quick back story on the green arrow and which comics he's exactly affiliated with. I've never read comics so naturally I've never heard of Green Arrow before this show so seeing Ra's Al Ghul being mentioned and Deathstroke both of whom are mainly Batman's nemeses is a little confusing.

I don't know much either mainly what I do is from Batman. But I'm pretty sure they're just in the same 'universe' so some enemies are recurring.

Pretty sure that it's different, sometimes universes are reset or something, like Cyborg being an integral part of the new Justice League. But I know Flash is appearing in Arrow in some episodes, so that opens the door for a lot of the other superheroes with powers, like superman and Green Lantern, even though they are definitely too high profile for a TV Show.
