it's almost as if he was some sort of a youth player who wasn't even assigned a first team squad number at the start of the season...

Thiago just turned 20..

he was a Barca B player last season..
this season he will be promoted.. Guardiola has plans for him.. so don't worry:) hopefully he will make his debut for Spanish Nt this season before the euro Very Happy

I had no idea that it was a law in Spain... that's for clearing that up.

Stil doesn't explain it in other countries. I mean why have silly buyout clauses? If you don't want to sell the player, just say NO.

Are Barcelona dumb? or do they suffer from numeracy gremlins?

To be quite honest, Thiago has the upper hand in this deal; the favt that it's a 2 year extension says a lot about the Thiago and Barcelona relationship. e90m buy out...yeah whatever!

Do you even know what you just said?

There's no upper hand and lower hand because of the buyout clause, genius. In Spain, all teams assign their players buyout clauses. Ronaldo's buyout is 1 billion euros. Messi's buyout is 250 million euros (probably changed after his last extension), Xavi's buyout is 150 million, and so on. It's done to set a high estimate on the player's price.

If you don't know what you're talking about, why bother?
