Casillas stepping up as the youngest ever keeper in a final and keeping a clean sheet in 2000 UCL final

Casillas coming off the bench in 2002 and pulling off save after save of the highest difficulty to ensure our win

Casillas has never let in a single goal in any final he has been a apart of.

What trophy has Iker been directly responsible for?

Replace Valdes with Iker and Spain are still the GOAT NT.

Replace Courtois with Iker last season and Madrid still win the League.

I think someone said it in chat, maybe it was RG. He was better when Madrid were worse.

Its half true. He wasnt exactly better, he just had more to do and its easy to pick out how he saved your ass when hes doing it so often.

Excellent shot stopper and does it in big moments too, he has a knack. But he still to this day hasnt mastered his biggest weakness...command of the box. He also makes too many errors.

Is he the best goalie right now? Maybe....maybe not.

Best I ever seen..no way.

I also want to add, while I repeat the Ballon D'or/European player of the year/whatever award/s are a tub of crap which doesnt even need paying attention to, all the talk about Iker winning it to me was a incredibly funny.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Having watched Zoff, Kahn, Schmeichel, Buffon, Casillas, etc., I think Iker is the best. None of those guys were perfect and all of them made plenty of mistakes. The difference? The big saves in big moments. Put Iker in a single game do-or-die situation and he beats all of them in terms of consistency and years... he's had legendary performance after legendary performance. In fact, had Madrid not missed 3 PKs against Bayern, he would have saved us again. All the other guys did not maintain their peak as long as Iker has... and the reason is simple: Most keepers don't hit their peak until their late 20s. Iker started very young and matured quickly. He won't lose quickness and athleticism for a while still too.

Just my opinion.

No Goalkeeper in History has helped his teams win Cups like Casillas.

Put him in a Final and the Chance of Earthquake is more than him make a mistake.

Edit : replace a "mistake" with "not a great performance".

The free kick was so excellent that not even a keeper of Iker's calibre could save it. He was made to look foolish and was humbled by its glory.....ergo, humiliated
