Wolfsburg want Quagliarella
Wolfsburg officials will make a deadline day offer to Juventus for Fabio Quagliarella, reports SportMediaset.
The German club are interested in the former Udinese, Sampdoria and Napoli man who is not guaranteed first team football in Turin.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Old Lady are willing to do a deal – even after they wrapped up terms for Arsenal’s Niklas Bendtner.

That's good news. It would be foolish to sell Quags. At this point, we have 3 CFs (not including Iaquinta) that are about equal or just slightly better than each other. Signing Bendtner did not make Matri or Quags surplus. The move may have actually made them more important if Bendtner is a bust.

Especially to Wolfsburg and for the arrival of Bendtner. His head might explode.

I would have to pull a Berbatov and intercept the transfer

Please do Luca. I'd play Quags over this clown Bendtner.
But to be fair to Marotta this time at least he's been more accurate than he was with the Vucinic/Aguero saga. We started the window shopping for a wantaway Arsenal striker and we ended it by signing a wantaway Arsenal striker.

Quags over Bendtner - in what kind of a crazy world would you play a SS over a true striker for a striking position. Quags cant head a ball, he can physically take on him man. Hes useless in the penalty box when its man on man.
what you said about finally getting that Arsenal stiker - Never really thought of it that way - its quite amusing acutally!

Re: Wolfsburg want Quagliarella
Hahah yeah. But for Quags he isn't really a typical ss he can do both. And I would rather gamble on Quags getting his form back after a string of starts instead of bringing in Bendtner who is well known by arsenal fans for missing goals which should be simple for a CF.
But now Bendtner is here i support him and I hope he does well.

But what we need a is a penalty box predator.
Im sorry, but I dont think Quags has anything compared to bendtner in that regard.
You need height, power, muscle, speed and being in the right place at the right time.
All of those, I think Bendtner is better than Quags. Much better.
Outside the box - Quags is probably the superior player - but thats now what we need rigth now

LOL
Goal 1: penalty box- overhead kick from a corner, while holding off a defender.
Goal 2: penalty box- getting in front of his man at the near post
Goal 3: penalty box- good first touch away from his man, great finish
Goal 4: penalty box- incredible header, back post run, left unmarked
Goal 5: penalty box- dribbled away from his man, tidy finish
Goal 6: outside the area- physically dispossesses the defender, wonderful finish
Goal 7: penalty box- unmarked back post run, diving header for good measure
Goal 8: penalty box- great run, got in front of his man, back heel finish
Goal 9: penalty box- one touch finish, perfect shot
Goal 10: penalty box- wins a header, incredible headed goal
Goal 11: penalty box- wins a header off the corner
And it makes no sense that you consider Quags a SS when he is so much more
Please don't disrespect a player who suffered a severe injury while wearing this shirt

Re: Wolfsburg want Quagliarella
If only Quags can rediscover his forum. What people tend to do with Bendtner is look at him on a youtube video, look at his height and think. "Hmm, this guy looks like a big and strong target man who will dominate in the air and hold up the ball."
He's nothing special in the air most of the time and when Quags was ok I can assure you he could do everything Bendtner can and most of it to a better quality bar maybe heading and i'm not sure about pace. Neither player exactly relies on having much.

I'm with Luca on this one. This season will make or break Quags. He will have to prove himself.
Re: Wolfsburg want Quagliarella
I hope Bendtner does well
It just doesn't make sense to discredit Quagliarella in an attempt to praise Bendtner, no sense at all

Whos discrediting Quags?? And who said anything about disrespecting him because of his injury??
You can put up all the youtube videos you want. I think its hilarious you think you can change my mind based on a few samples of his goals - especially goals from 3 years ago!
Quags is NOT the same player as before his injury - it might be bitter pill for you to swallow but thats the truth. He WAY below what he was. I think Bendtner is a better player in a STRIKING position than Quags - a penalty box predator. and I stand by that.
I think Quags is a better player outside the box.
I wouldnt sell Quags but I also wouldnt start him ahead of Bendtner as a OUT AND OUT STRIKER

Re: Wolfsburg want Quagliarella
I think the glory days of Quagliarella are over. I think this is as an indirect result of his injury, not a direct result. What I mean is, the reason he started becoming so consistent, training hard and giving it all is because the national team meant so much to him, look at how freaking hard he played for Italy and how disappointed he was when we went out. But after his injury he wasn't played enough to make the Euro squad... and then, now, at this point given his age and (lack of) experience, no matter how good he does his national career is over, and he realizes this obviously. So I don't see him having that much willpower anymore, possibly to win a champions league, perhaps, I don't know, but I doubt we'll see that passionate Quagliarella anymore, I still expect to see some wonder goals though.

interesting point, but we have the example of di natale who is much older than quags and he played a decent amount of time for NT (related to his age).. We'll see, the future can confirm us.. FOrza Azzuri!

His headed goal against Novara was last season
His chances have been rather limited under Conte but I wouldn't write him off, I just hope he gets a chance
And what are you basing your opinion that Bendtner is better than Quagliarella on?
Because I'm positive it's from youtube videos...

Sorry Luca I hope he is able to perform this season, but he has looked rather poor in pre-season.

Um..because Ive been an Arsenal fan since the days where Henry left Juve to join them..1997 to be precise. Arsenal is my english team.
You want to debate the pros and cons of Bendtner - feel free - i would love to. Im 1000% sure ive seen more of him than you.
Bendtner is certainly not the Juve saviour. But he and Matri are the only 2 out and out strikers we have - hes a 1000 times more useful than Boriello. He has my support this season but I wont weep if he leaves us next season based on his record so far (ofcourse, this season will be his real test and I will reserve my judgment until later in the season)
