Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
few things i was massively disappointed with after finishing the game
Really hope Konami can remake the old MG/MGS games in fox engine.
- Spoiler:
No solid snake at all. It was a huge blow tbh. Was expecting him to make an appearance at some point. Maybe he would have been involved in act 3
No solidus
No Sniper wolf (would have been unreal if there was a cut scene with quiet training her)
No Frank Jaeger
Really hope Konami can remake the old MG/MGS games in fox engine.

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
I read a while back on the MGS subreddit about hints in the game towards an MG1/2 remake (obviously not gonna happen now)

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
ES smh.
Pachinko is the name of a pin ball machine lol, which obviously Konami owns.
All they have down is filed a trademark named " big boss " it's not a game lol.
Just means they are going to license the *bleep* out of Metal Gear and use it to sell merchandise stuff.

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
I imagine although nobody wants this they will sit on it like Activision did with Crash Bandicoot tbh.
We'll never see any games out of them but they'll still make money out of it.

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
Can't see this game be topped or on par by others game bar a few like a ND game(s) and a Future GTA.
Same situation as MGS4 lol.
Kojima is a genius ffs

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
Says doubt it will be topped after playing for a few hours and without playing the two other GOTY contenders.
Seems legit.

Well not exactly a bold claim to make despite that. But yea he should play other GOTY candidates first to be impartial.
I can comfortably say there will never be a game as detailed as MGS5 ever again. In terms of gameplay it's top 5 of all time easily. Puts half-arsed open worlds like GTA5 to shame.

TW3 >>>>>>>>>>>> Bloodborne = MGSV
Pachinko is like pinball slot machines that are popular as f in Japan
Konami make a ridiculous amount of money from it

never expected them to sell the rights, they seem too proud to do that kinda thing and they don't need to financially

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
in terms of gameplay approaches and little details MGSV is very creative but I don't know if it's any deeper than TW3 in that regard
TW3's open world absolutely dumps on MGSV's though, tbh I was very disappointed with MGSV's open world approach, it's so empty yet so big that I didn't even play it like an open world game, I was 90% of the time > in helicopter for micromanagement of the base > land in mission area, finish mission > return to heli, etc.
there was no incentive to explore it
plus apparently snake can't climb a 2ft rock unless you're in a specific, pre-defined area that will allow you to

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
That's because developing a RPG game in an open world is infinitely times easier than mixing stealth and open world.

That's my issue tbh, well that and it's like me saying W3 is the best game of all time after i left White Orchard lol.
Also RG what is half arsed about GTA Vs open world? think it's one of the best i have ever played tbh.

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
not really a valid excuse though
there's literally nothing besides missions in the open world
not even random patrols outside of the scattered bases, it just makes it all feel empty
which is why it's a forgettable open world IMO
gameplay wouldn't have suffered at all if it was purely level based

GTA5 was open world?
I can't remember a single thing you could do apart from driving on highways lol. It was a highway simulator at times.

Think you didn't explore enough lol, i haven't played MGS obviously but i haven't played a open world game with as much shit to do as GTA V tbh.
