Re: Cesc Fabregas omitted from new away kit photoshoot as Arsenal captain edges closer to Barcelona switch
Hmmmm, away kit as welll........ I can't say it is that important or telling really.
Teams often enough use players in those shoots that are set on leaving and vice versa.
Anyway,
It would be smart for Barcelona to buy him next year, when he will become cheaper (less time left on his contract) and Xavi is older. But they could use the added squad depth now. They are being tricky though, because their low bids keep Fab hot on going to Barcelona, so he won't go anywhere else in the mean time. I guess they are deliberately bidding low so Arsenal won't accept, but Cesc still feels wanted.
Not sure how Barcelona'll be able to finance all this though.

Not in midfield it is'nt there are already 7 players + any youth players Pep want's to play now and again and he want's another one lol?
Having said this the depth upfront and in centre of defence is incredibly thin yes.
Iniesta and xavi, thats it. Mascherano and busquets are DMS. Thiago is too inexperienced, if xavi or iniesta gets injured, Keita?

Busquet's is naturally a CM, Thiago dominated the Villarreal midfield last year alongside Mascherano and Keita, he is good enough now to face the majority of teams Barca face and Affelay is naturally a CM/AM....
More than enough to not a warrant another purchase while as forwards go they have Messi, Villa, Pedro and Affelay for 3 positions and Pique, Puyol and Fontas for 2 CB's positions.
I think its pretty clear what the priority should be.

Not appearing in a photoshoot = THAT'S IT!! HE'S OFF!! ARSENAL TO ACCEPT £12.98 BID TOMORROW!! Nevermind that Arsenal have previously said no. But you can't stop the power and persuasive skills of....um....not appearing in a photoshoot.....
As someone has pointed out already, RVP isn't in it either, i guess that now means he's off to SBV Excelsior?
RVP does not exactly equate to the captain of your club and main money maker, you would think of all people Fabregas would be the first and foremost player in your photo shoots as no one in your squad would come close to selling merchandise like he would?
RVP is the main money maker I believe...he is the one that is most liked by fans, not Fabregas.

Fabregas just had a "meh" year because of his injuries, and giving a player of his talent another year to show off his skills will be too risky because he might just bump his price up, regardless for whether his contract has one less year on it. I mean, seriously...is there much of a difference between having 4 years left and 3 years left? Not really.

True, true, and fail on my part, because I thought he currently only had 2 years left on his contract (so he'd have only 1 next year --> crazy Bosman situations). In that case, Barcelona should try to buy him now.
Btw, did you hear the God that is your avatar is bound to become assistant coach of Ajax? Will be announced today probably.

The players in the photoshoot were Szczesny, Gibbs, Wilshere, Ramsey and Nasri. If Arsenal were using their most marketable players they would have thrown in Vermaelen, Fabregas, Walcott and van Persie. Perhaps this should suggest that not appearing in a photoshoot promoting a kit means nothing.

Yup, someone posted an article on our forums. The Iceman is going to oversee the Ajax academy as well, which is a very big thing considering how famous it is and all its history.
I would love to see him become the manager at Arsenal at some point in the near or distant future, he is already making big strides in his managerial career so far.

LOL the media is taking every chance they get to make a big deal out of nothing.
The only thing pisses me off more then media is the drama queens or Barcelona.
(Sergio Busquets confident that Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas will soon join Barcelona:)
If Barcelona want Cesc be a man about it and come with money stop being a bitch about it.
We all are tired of all this crap, Cesc has his leg open for Barcelona to come and take him, and he is not being a man about it. Arsenal wont miss him and we dont care if he leaves, let him cry back to Arsenal like most Arsenal that left.

Guys, Ronaldo was not in the promotional material for our new kit either...
Catastrophe! Ronaldo to Man City for 140 million, earning a 400 a week wage, with the captains armband and the stadium named after him!

Hardly a piece of convincing evidence...
I'm praying this won't happen. What a waste of money that would be.

Barcelona have no clue who they want. Their team is set for another 5 years and they don't need any signing.

That isn't really true... Some of their key players are aging.... Xavi and Puyol of course, and hell, in a couple years even Villa, Iniesta and Dani Alves (not now obviously, but in 4/5 years or something).
Their new youth is good, but not THAT promising to just rely on them for the future, imo.
And Iceman, that would be great! I hope he has a great future at Ajax, but if he'll be Wenger's successor eventually, that would be awesome for Arsenal. He deserves a lot of credit for Arsenal's "revolution" imo.

Plus they lack serious depth upfront and at the back, they have one of the smallest squads in europe to say they dont anyone is silly.

Assuming Cesc gets sold, Arsenal would really need to make a big splash on the transfer market to keep Nasri or pay him top wages...
Wenger is on the cusp of losing Arsenal's status completely. It's been eroding... but this summer might just be the breaking point.
It just doesn't seem that Arsenal's priority is to compete for trophies, but to compete to qualify for the CL. It's really a shame.

Explain's Cesc's sudden beard style. They must think they can make fire rubbing those beards together.
