Exactly, although the point of a wall is to block the route to goal. If you can kick the ball around the wall instead of over it, then the defenders/goalkeeper have failed pretty hard at getting the right position.

True, however that wall was as far to Messi's left (Iker's right) as it could safely get. Any further then it would just leave a weird gap in front of the whole posts. Messi does try to go over the wall at times in his free kick attempts.

Casillas tried to position his all a bit to the left cz Messi is a lefty at the same time making sure there was no gaping hole in front of his posts

Anyway that bend was just too wicked from Messi

Who said Ronaldo is top FK taker? Ronaldo's style is impressive but its too wasteful.

last year against Bayern he missed 7-8 very good freekicks in 2 matches. we could've use them way better.

Ronaldo and Messi are ok but nothing special like Del Piero, Beckham or players like that.

Nobody called him a top FK taker. He also scored a good amount of them last season and already has 1 this season, you can't discredit them.

So who scored more this and last season? Messi and Cronaldo both have 4 freekick goals, Cronaldo probably double the attempts. And Messi was unlucky to score more last season, hit post atleast from 5-6 freekicks.

Ronaldo's rate is bad because he tries to shot from anywhere. but Messi only tries when its a good angle/distance.

His free kick was without a doubt amazing but.. did anyone else see Xavi's orgasmic corner shot free kick.. it went so far into the corner it hit the corner pole and bounced back..

He has definitely improved though you have to admit.

In the last laliga game last season, Messi scored another freekick vs Espayol I think when he hugged Pep farewell.

He's been this good atleast a year, scored 3 last season but was unlucky to hit the post at least 6-7 times. Was just matter of time when they started to go in.
