Re: Appreciation Thread
lol besides the initial Mudcat deception, there's not goonerettes and from the looks of it, we'd make them feel incredibly awkward with all this anticipation.
If anyone knows any though...

Seriously, Mudcat would have been a terrible user name for a girl. Geez.
But congrats to everyone!

With that avatar and name, you can't blame MJ for fantasizing about a dirty catfight - in the mud (literally dirty )
And MJ I know a handful but I can't convince any of them to show enough determination and dedication and love to GL

Re: Appreciation Thread
I know a girl who is an Arsenal fan, previously because of Cesc and now strengthened because of ze Germans, since she's German. She seems to know enough not to be ridiculed for lack of knowledge. Unfortunately, we have been broken up for 2 years, and would definitely not join.

Re: Appreciation Thread
I knew a girl who is/was an Arsenal fan back in my freshman year of college. No idea where she is or if she still supports them, though.
She actually told me once she supported Arsenal because they were like the perfect boyfriend: Plenty of fantastic build up and foreplay without ever actually attempting to score.

Re: Appreciation Thread
You'd think she'd support Liverpool. You know, even when they get wood she wouldn't have to worry about them trying to score.

That's only been the last season or so, though... I'm talking about back in 07/08.

Re: Appreciation Thread
Also, I have an experiment for you. On your next two dates try two different things. First, show her to a lovely and original date with fun and a bit of romance. Don't try to force things, rather let them go at their pace. Romance her.
On the following date, show up with a hard-on and no romancing plans.
See which goes over better and you'll understand why your analogy doesn't really work.
(This is assuming that these are two first dates or at the very beginning of a potential relationship, rather than with a lady you've been seeing for a while)

I'm done. I just wanted to hear how the lass reacts to him showing up to a first date with a boner and no date plans.

Re: Appreciation Thread
So Liverpool hit the woodwork without buildup play? Lol your logic is pretty flawed there.

Final post (by me) on the matter: No, that's not what I said at all, and I think you know it.
The young lady in question was making a joke about Arsenal's supposed tendency to try to walk the ball into the net... back when every commentator and his mother would, at some point in a match, mention how lovely Arsenal's build up was but how they should shoot more often rather than waiting for the perfect opportunity. So, in the relationship analogy, all dating, romancing, spooning, etc but never actually trying to get in the girl's pants.
Liverpool were never known for that. Yes, the club hit the woodwork a great deal last season. Yes, that can be made into a sexual joke. But does it fit the relationship analogy? Not really. We were never accused of being overly picky with our shots or overly complex and focused on our build up play, and hitting the woodwork a lot is a bit like having a problem with premature ejaculation... it's not a good thing.
With that, I'm done. I've derailed the thread enough and if you still don't get the point you're either bring intentionally dense or far too young to be discussing these things.

Lol.. Relax Red.. No need to take things so logically, its just some banter from MJ.. He is among the smartest people I know, so I wouldn't say he is dense, nor is he too young to discuss anything..

Haha. Well a mudcat is just another name for a dirty old catfish. Nothing quite that erotic.
Maybe I should have gone with Kilgore Trout instead.
