Bayern earned 41 mio Euros from the CL 2011/12

Bayern München may have suffered a tragic loss at the feet of Chelsea, but still they earned 41.73 mio Euros from their CL campaign. (Chelsea got a whopping 59.94 mio Euros for their win.)

Bayer Leverkusen still earned 28.178 mio Euros and even Borussia Dortmund got 25.361 mio Euros.

In the EL the revenue was a bit less, but still Schalke 04 earned 10.5 mio Euros despite their quarter final exit, while winner Atlético Madrid earned only 14.000 Euros more than Schalke, as Schalke 04 has a higher part from the market pool (8 mio Euros). Hannover 96 who got as far as Schalke earned 8.4 mio Euros.

It's a shame Chelsea had to get that money, we needed that money more than they do, by now Martinez deal would have been concluded.

Chelsea are extremely rich and don't rely on prize money for transfer...

We earned 39 Million from the CL this past year. Still not sure where that money went.

Interesting. Both Leverkusen (15.178 mio €) and Dortmund (16.961 mio €) got a higher market pool share than Bayern (14.830 mio €). I really would love to see the key how exactly that market pool thing is calculated. I mean, I understand Dortmund's higher number than Bayern's, but Leverkusen?

Probably same reason Man U got more money than Barca, even though Barca won it >.>

BTW, I just checked the data from the EL, too. Considering the fact that the German teams in the EL earn 8.5-10 mio Euros due to the higher market pool shares there as opposed to the 2.6-3.1 mio Euros the Italian teams get via much smaller market pool shares, it is probably even a bit more understandable why German clubs put a bit more effort into the EL. ^^
