Re: Bayern Munich Transfer 2011
I've noticed that your players are very flexible in the amount of positions they can play.
Tymoschuk (CB, DM)
Pranjic (CM, LB)
you had Altinitop (pretty much everywhere)
Gustavo (def/mid)
add Vidal (def/mid)
Rafinha (RB/RM)
Lahm (LB, RB)
Badstuber (CB, LB)
that makes for a good squad. I like it.

The lack of CB's you guys are linked with is upsetting, you should be after atleast 4 in the hopes of getting 2.

Re: Bayern Munich Transfer 2011
In German youth academies, the players are usually taught to be versatile if possible. Due to that, the coaches here tend to prefer versatile players in general. Especially as it is said that the versatility supports better bonding with other players as they know better how they are supposed to play their roles, too, when they played them themselves, too.
Actually I don't think it is upsetting. IMO it is clever not to broadcast the interest too far around as that would make the prices rise much faster.kick mars wrote:The lack of CB's you guys are linked with is upsetting, you should be after atleast 4 in the hopes of getting 2.

Re: Bayern Munich Transfer 2011
Bayern never broadcast their transfer targets. Only the Neuer saga was obvious, because apart from that if they want someone they just quietly get them. Works wonders on the price, and just freaks players out when suddenly Bayern wants your ass .

Bayern are still heavily linked with Boateng, though, and he apparently wants the move. This might just yet happen, Bayern won't go higher than 12.5m, I reckon City might actually sell, if Jerôme really wants to leave...

Re: Bayern Munich Transfer 2011
A question for you Germans who know him better... is Jerome injury prone? Because being a CB and injury prone is an odd combination to have. Specially if your CB cover is crap.VivaStPauli wrote:Bayern are still heavily linked with Boateng, though, and he apparently wants the move. Re: Bayern Munich Transfer 2011
Boeteng isn't good enough as far as I'm concerned like someone said on Facebook.
"I rather prefer they think about signing a "BMW" kinda player, reputable and established as hell .. Not a KIA picanto kinda player, which will cost you less money on fuel and such, if you know what I mean"
"If u consider vidic or pique as BMW and Breno as KIA"
"Alex is definitely a Bentley, Phatom, Bugatti that kind of league and Boeteng is nothing but Kia to me"

If we Buy Mertesacker we need to buy another fast defender to partner him, Cause his the slowest player out there and we really need pace in our defence

Boateng is pretty fast, him and Mertesacker would be pretty beast. Now thinking of that I would be happy with that combo at NT level too.

Re: Bayern Munich Transfer 2011
We need a Mertesacker or Friedrich just for the experience. We can't stick Boateng-Badstuber, even though they'd play well because they'd get owned on the long term. This is why van Gaal used Tymo so much in the back, he has tons of experience.

Re: Bayern Munich Transfer 2011
Why don't we just make a mega-bid for Chiellini?
He was always been a dream for me..
and I'm sure Luca Toni will recomment FC Bayern for him.

Actually I don't think he's weak. He just wants to make sure Bayern will prosper in future, too, and for that mega bids are not a good idea.

Re: Bayern Munich Transfer 2011
Mega bids are stupid, you make them once, and people will expect them for your next transfers too. If you pay 30m for Chellini now, Boateng price instantly goes back up to 20m.
I think Nerlinger and Hoeness are playing it pretty smart.
That being said: Mertesacker + Boateng would solve all of Bayerns problems. Hell, I'd play them at NT level, if Hummels + Höwedes wasn't even better.

Re: Bayern Munich Transfer 2011
Guys, bidding for Chiellini would be like those mega bids Madrid does all the time. First, while Juve aren't top caliber right now, they still are Juve and Chiellini loooves Juve. It would be like trying to pry Schweinsteiger or Lahm out of Bayern. We know that would never happen even if they wanted to. These guys bleed for their colors (red's much sexier, though).
I approve of Mertesacker+Boateng. It has the speed + strength mixed with experience and determination. If not then Friedrich + Badstuber.
It's weird we're looking outside for talent when we usually just raid other Buli clubs for it.

I approve of bringing talent to the Bundesliga instead of just moving it around, though.

Re: Bayern Munich Transfer 2011
TBH, I don't care for Boateng if we got Chiellini for 30M!
But of course.. we all know the emotional attachement between him and Juventus..

Just like Schweinsteiger and Lahm to Bayern, I doubt if Cheilinni will ever leave Juventus...
Re: Bayern Munich Transfer 2011

both got technique, both are young, badstuber has the eyes of a cm and boateng is damn fast
