£15m was a bargain! I would have paid 'many more millions' for Allen says Rodgers

15M is indeed a bargain for Iniesta.
Rodgers quote: "Allen, unlike most of British midielders, doesn't give possession easily at all. he is frightenningly talented with the ball"

Apparently Barca have agreed terms with Alex Song with a transfer to Barcelona. The source, I have never heard of...

As i said before he's more like Busquets than Iniesta, he gets the ball he passes 5 yards to left, right or backwards to keep possession.
If you expect anything more than that then you will be disappointed.
Although he is very good at doing that, while what Rodgers says is true he doesn't give possession away easily but that doesn't mean he does anything special with it.
What Liverpool are getting quite frankly is a younger version of Leon Britton.

ahahahahaha bs man.
I've seen Allen dribble past opposition midfielders, receive the ball in tight situations under pressure, but turn and release the ball successfully forward. Allen isn't a player who makes direct assist, he is more the type that assists the final assister.
Not surprised though, After all, only 20% of Xavi's passes are forwards. and Aquilani in 6 months had more direct assists than Modric in 2 years, guess all Modric does is useless and has no end product either, eh
What Liverpool got, is the 2nd best and most technically gifted British midfielder of this era after Wilshere. You don't dominate Man City or Arsenal's midfield, being just a younger version and pointless sideways passing version of Leon Britton.
These guys outpassed Arsenal and City last season and killed them ffs.
No point to argue, season ahead will answer all these questions.
To me, he is the Welsh Iniesta, to you he is young version of Britton
but then again, to you Santon is the young Maldini, whereas to me, he is Richardson II.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 6
Santon isnt the young Maldini i never said that although the Italian media did but he's definitely a tonne shit better than Richardson
You really havent seen him much have you, at the Olympics there was two more gifted midfielders than him in the same GB midfield
Allen hardly does anything apart from recycle possession with easy simple passes and is being hyped because most british midfielders are incapable of it.
Also Swansea out passing someone means very little as their top passer in practically all their games was Williams or Caulker.
The mere fact Allen completed 3 through balls all season long says a lot about what type of player he is.
Oh well you will see soon enough.
He's a good player i never denied that, but he's far from what you are expecting in terms of style and attacking threat.

Lol ignore Mole guys.....We all know of his reputation against Liverpool players.
Before LFC, Mole "Allen GOAT"

What? i have not changed my opinion of him, do you guys actually read?
Allen is still a very good player but he is not an Iniesta he is a neat and tidy playmaker who will recycle possession with short sharp passes with very little risk.
He is basically a defensively superior, more defined version of Henderson.
I never said he's a poor mans Britton either.
I do hate it when people twist my words for their own good to make it look like i'm hating or trolling.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 6
Allen's style really isn't similar to Iniesta. He can turn away from markers and keep the ball well under pressure, but that's where the similarities end.
He's someone who will sit in midfield and recycle possession. Mole's comparison with Leon Britton is actually pretty valid, only Allen is a superior defender.
He's certainly not the "second most technically gifted British midfielder after Wilshere". He's a unique kind of player in that there aren't many British midfielders who can play a deep-lying playmaker role well and hold a midfield, but isn't as technically good as Ramsey, Cleverly or even McEachran.

lol everyone would have forgotten about McEachran already if it wasn't for Chelsea fans to try and keep his hype afloat
I'm not expecting wonders from Allen, more like an additional piece to help us control the midfield, but up to others to provide fireworks up in attack.

But that is a really strange signing by City.
Maybe the owners aren't willing to invest as much as they did last season and this is an attempt to keep Mancini happy?

Allen shone last season because Swansea were playing defensive tiki-taka. I rate him but lets see how he performs in a team who play to win every game.

They desperately need a playmaker and Isco is available yet they've been signing scrubs all summer long.
Even Borja would have been a decent alternative to Diego.
So frustrating. Quaresma ffs.
they signed emre like two months ago...

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 6
If City wanted to spend on a Everton midfielder surely Fellaini would have made more sense?
I understand City would want an improvement on Barry and someone who is also capable of covering Yaya for injuries and suspensions....
But Rodwell is really capable of neither.
As said it's a really strange signing.
