The probable 2012/2013 Champions League team?
Realistic? Yes!
We lack a CF here.. For 3-5-2 I prefer a CF.. Destro?

Re: The probable 2012/2013 Champions League team?
It's way too early in the summer for me to speculate about the squad we will put forth for Champions League. However, I disagree with a few of your formations.
I don't see Lucio starting ahead of Bonucci. I think that Lucio will be used for depth purposes and may start on a Saturday or Sunday match before a mid-week UCL game. I could be wrong on this point.
You also need to remember that Isla will be out for the first month or two of the season and it may take some time to get his pace back. He probably won't start in a forward position like you have in your first formation because we have Giovinco for that.
You don't have Giovinco starting in either formation. I think Juve has to play him from the start in one of our "preferred" formations.
Otherwise, you put up some interesting options. I think that the diverse formations you put forth are just a few examples of how flexible and diverse this team will be next season. With our group of players and potential transfer targets, the formations could be endless. We become much more flexible if we can bring in a better LB.

The first formation is more of a 4-4-2 then a 4-3-3 with Isla playing a sort of "box-to-box" right winger. I don't see how Giovinco and Jovetic will play together but i agree that Giovinco must be given a fair chance from the start. He is a juventini and he was in the team of the season so i believe he's a completely upgrade to what we know of him in Juventus. And yes. A new LB is a must.. But with a group of solid CBs we could use him as LB.. Just saying - he would be the worlds best LB if you think of offensive and defensive abilities combined.

Alright. So put Vucinic in the middle, with Jovetic and Giovinco right behind him, pushing out wide and cutting in.

That's too offensive of a 4-3-3, I'd rather see:
I'll never be sold on PDC. Yes, he can hold down his position when fit, but how often is he fit? Juventus will only play more games from now on, and at a higher level. It is inevitable.
Chiellini is in his prime, and is a CB, he should not be pushed out into that position that often.
Jovetic-Vucinic-Isla
Marchisio-Pirlo-Vidal
New LB-Chiellini-Barzagli-Lichtsteiner
Buffon

I feel like when Chiellini is out wide he is half the player he is at CB . Also Giovinco needs to play out wide or he gets lost in the game . Make pepe the new left back

35/36 of his games this season were played through the middle- his best season too (Giovinco this is)

Agreed about Chiellini to an extent, he is a lock down defender but he offers absolutely nothing going forward, he just isn't a fullback.

i love that line up, at least for some opponents... for others we may have to field a more defensive lineup

When we wanna go more defensive we could easily switch ti something like this:
Continue to easily vary betweeb the 352 and 433 as we successfully did last season.

--Barzagli-- --Bonucci-- --Chiellini--
--Lichsteiner-- --Vidal-- --Pirlo-- --Marchisio-- --Isla--
