Well, Messi is still the overwhelming favorite. But if Italy win the Euros and Pirlo continues to dominate he has a very good chance of landing 2nd. I mean, who is there to stop Pirlo from getting 2nd?

He might even win it (A bit wishful but I have hope ) Razz

That is a reasonable list it rewards winners and champions and includes a stat padder as a consolation 4th place.

You should be in for a treat in the Germany - Italy match then I hear Germany's number 8 isn't too bad himself.

EDIT: For the record if that number 8 becomes just as good as Pirlo he would end his career having been one of the best eco smile

He won't be top3. Top3 will be Messi, Ronaldo, Ozil (Ozil 3rd, Messi or Ronaldo 1st). Anyway one of the best players who should have won the Balon d'Or alongside Raul and Henry. Can't believe he didn't win it in 2006.
