Ozil has slightly improved defensively under Mou this season but he's still not great. Him and Mata are both awful. I mean it's just painful to watch.

Benzema is not good defensively. Stop it just stop.

Ronaldo is actually the best out of those three when he wants to be but he's extremely lazy.


Torres is a poor positional defender but when he's not forced to guard wingers/wing backs he's actually pretty good. Hustles and closes defenders down and he's extremely good at slide tackling oddly enough.

Hulk is actually very good defensively. Overrated in offense but he isn't a liablity.

Mata and Hazard though.

Madrid/Barca-esque pressing of the ball must be the number 1 priority for Chelsea's manager this summer (that and Torres losing weight) or else it's gon' be ugly.

we only need one of Hazard and Hulk (and id prefer Hulk personaly) if after that the club wants to spen another 30+mil they should buy a good creative CM to play in the double pivot, someone like Banega, who i doubt would be in that 30mil region anyway

Defensively way too Poor. Would BOMB IMO or might. There is a HUGE Doubt over Mata,Hazard or Hulk's Work-Rate. So Cole or Invanovic wont get the Double Security against Great Wingers + Wingbacks.

No Real Destroyer in the Mid-field. Ramires Lampard are way too attacking. I doubt if they have players who can boss a mid-field. This would probably Flop Bad,having said that a few very good set of players

I agree with this. Getting a Banega-mould player makes more sense than getting an extra winger.

United arent doomed.As long as Alex Ferguson is at the helm they will compete for each and every trophy.He has instilled in United a supreme and unparalleled will to win that I have not seen in any other team(in individual sports I have seen it in Michael Schumacher).
Chelsea and City can spend all the money they want.Come the end of the season United will be competing for titles.

If you think he can, then there is nothing wrong in getting two wingers.

We'll be fine. I worry more about Manchester City.

Chelsea are looking very strong though. The title race next season is gonna be very strong.

Like I said I'm hoping McEachran and De Bruyne are groomed for that role rather spending another £30m on Modric, Banega etc

Ozil is great at defending (for an AM). Pressures very well and gets the ball back a lot.

The number of times he has saved us in defense by running back and winning over possession lol.

Anyway United never seem to have the best team on paper, but they always challenge for the title. Carrick and Valencia both can defend.

Top 4 teams are all going to have impressive teams next season in the BPL...if Arsenal can keep RVP and make a couple of signings.

Ozil is better than Mata at defending but certainly not great. There is a reason Mou put Di maria at center and moved Ozil to wings during first half of Bayern 1st leg.. Because Ozil wasnt good enough at closing down Luis Gutsavo quickly enough.

CR is crap at defending lol,what is gil smoking. He is not better at defending that either benz or Ozil.

He's got the physique and pace to be a great defender but he's incredibly lazy.

I get whre you're coming from but sometimes the will to win isn't enough. They need more talent.

physic and pace...key point. but thats all lol..He doesnt have the footballing brain to decide when to follow a fullback overlapping and how to cut a passing line.

Actually he is not only lazy but also thinks track backing is kind of inferior players job lol. Plus he dont have experience defending. Not in training,not on the field.

I've seen £100k,£110k,£130k,£150k,£170k,£200k a week all being mentioned.We won't know until its announced.

Id rather spend the Hulk money on another CM,but if we do get Hulk then I'm not too bothered.Meireles,Lampard,Mikel,Ramires,Romeu is absolutely fine.

Which is about £110,000 per week. Last time I checked, that is not the same as €250,000(or £199,000).

That front 4 looks very ncie on paper and on the field im sure it will be great too, but going attack for attack ith Euro's heavyweights means less help for your defenders and they have to be individually up to it.

They didnt look like it earlier in the season, so it will be intresting.

Yeah we saw how David luiz,terry,Cahill,cole etc struggled during open games under AVB.They only looked good when Di matteo played conservative tactics. Their Defenders will be exposed for sure if they are fielding many attacking players.
