After watching the panorama program i agree with him. There is definately going to be trouble.
I think UEFA will regret holding it there.

Re: Campbell: "Don't go to the euros, you might come back in a coffin"
I'm not sure about Poland but my friends who were Vietnamese studied in Ukraine and Russia (two students got murdered recently) told me some pretty horrific racism stories. They said the thing is that the government denied racism problem and only recognized as isolated hate crime incidents.

F*cking disgrace. Campbell is right, these countries don't deserve to host such prestigious competitions until there's a massive improvement on the racism regard.

You can only imagine how crazy the stadium would go if someone like France or Turkey wins...

That's quite the cop out there.
These "other countries" that you speak of are actually working hard to eradicate racism.
What exactly have Poland and Ukraine done besides deny it's existance and/or sidetrack questions about it? I have not seen any "Kick Racism out of football"-esque initiatives being started in either of these countries.
Until we start seeing something like that, the whole "it happens in all countries" excuse won't cut the mustard.

Re: Campbell: "Don't go to the euros, you might come back in a coffin"
I'm not defending those acts at all, but in my experience, at least within Argentina, club football fans are a lot more extreme than international football fans. Fan deaths happen unfortunately often here as a result of the hooligans, but there are no hooligans for the NT. There are for clubs, and some of these have political allegiances. But NT fans are much milder, and there's never been big issues at the end of matches other than whistling and booing. I would suspect that the BBC could do a similar documentary about hooligans here, but it would still hold little relation to the realities of NT football.

It does happen in other countries but they try to fix the problem after watching Panorama you can the denial of it and the lack of effort by the Police, Stewards and clubs to eradicate the disgraceful behaviour.
The level of it is quite amazing and I expect major problems outside the stadiums and around the cities.

Well according to Shevchenko there is nothing to worry about and Ukraine is very friendly.

OK, racism is a big problem that shouldn't be trivialised, but I've found a another serious issue here... Poles and Ukrainians giving Nazi salutes. What has the world come to!?
There are only 2 conclusions I can draw...
1) The naive and very unlikely explanation... they don't teach history in either of these countries and have no monuments or other things that would indicate they were invaded by Nazis.
2) The sad truth... these guys are *bleep* ing idiots.

God .... this made me feel sick. Literally wanted to cry at some points out of the helplessness I felt.
What was worst was how institutionalised it all was. The police guy: "Its not a Nazi salute, they're just pointing at the other fans". Are you fkn serious? And the police said there is no racism EVER, and within 5 minutes some men are being beaten up by their fellow fans...
Just horrid... completely agree with Sol.

You're oversimplifying it. Of course the majority of the population would hate Hitler and at the time would have. However, there are always those who (for their political values and ideologies) welcome revolutionary changes, even welcome invasions.
There would have existed people back then who welcomed Hitler's regime with open arms. The fked up thing isn't that they are supporting those who 'invaded them', but that people with such values can still exist in such a society.
Sidenote: This guy as a journalist He got some incredible and scare footage with those patriot guys.

F**kn disgraceful! Thank goodness I will not have the misfortune of travelling down there. I might get beaten up for not supporting the acts, even though I'm white.

I feel the same... I think I wouldn't be able to just stand and watch. I'd end up getting myself hurt. The problem is its like 1,000 against 1 if you want to do something about it because the police do nothing.

That video was downright disgusting. What's even worse is that the police didn't do a thing about it. It looked like they actually condoned it.
This isn't the first time I hear about racism in that region though. I've heard about a lot of horrific racism-fueled crimes there.

Quite sad, really. I can't imagine playing in those leagues if I were a coloured skinned footballer. My life would be miserable.BarcaKizz wrote:Barrettinator wrote:F**kn disgraceful! Re: Campbell: "Don't go to the euros, you might come back in a coffin"
That was absolutely horrifying. I got chills, and the chills remained throughout the entire video. The plight of those Indians at the end was really fking sad. It's bad enough that they abuse their players...but the fans as well ? Fk me. To call them retards would truly be an insult to the mentally handicapped. Fking hive mentality.
Also - who else wasn't surprised to see a Lazio flag at some point or another
Honestly, that reporter had balls. The knife training shit just took it too far. And the ignorance displayed by the cops, and even uefa...words are inadequate to describe such tunnel vision.
In the end, we can hope for at least 1 in 5 racists to have a sister/daughter who hooks up with a black guy or a jew. Preferrably a black jew.

It's absolutely disgraceful. I managed to catch the Panorama broadcast and I was quite shocked at what I saw. I entirely agree with Sol. If you're non-white chances are that you might end up in serious trouble.
I wish I was nearby so I could slap the sh*t out of you.

Re: Campbell: "Don't go to the euros, you might come back in a coffin"
im sure there want be any problem for the euros
apparently there are problems here in greece too with racism. not as much but as latest incident the one with djibril cisse at least it is more about clubs hate each other wich leads to "temporary"racism
it looks like there the things are really ugly for this occation
but im pretty sure for an important tournament such as euro the police will stop any possible rasistic occation so i believe there wont be any problem

You guys have to be very careful with these documentaries and forming an opinion based on it. Anyway, I probably wouldn't go myself and don't blame anyone who chooses not to...
