Zoff: 'Juve need a hitman'

Italy and Juventus legend Dino Zoff has advised the Scudetto winners to “buy an important centre-forward for the Champions League.”

The Bianconeri won the title unbeaten, but their top scorer was Alessandro Matri on 10 goals, the only player to reach double figures.

“Juve need to buy an important centre-forward for the Champions League so they can enter this tournament with real ambition,” Zoff told TuttoJuve.

They have also lost Alessandro Del Piero, who got three goals this term, as his contract expired.

The only match Juve lost throughout the entire campaign was the Coppa Italia Final, 2-0 to Napoli.

“You cannot always win in football,” added Zoff. “A negative performance can’t cancel out a fantastic year, where Juve won the Scudetto with absolute merit.

“I got the feeling it wasn’t the real Juventus against Napoli, that tenacious and determined side we had admired over the course of the year.”
