Its been a wierd season but i think i'll vote for Messi in the end..

Carried a pretty lacklustre Barca attack both in CL and La Liga..only if the other forwards had finished off Messi's visionary passes against Chelsea ,we probably wouldnt even be contesting to who the player of the season is.

And ofcourse broke Legendary Gerd Muller's record of most goals in a single season.

So enough arguments for me to consider him as the player of the season..

After the El Clasico Madrid won 2-1 (AKA league decider) Messi scored 9 goals... So basicly like CR last season when the season is over and your goals don't matter for shit.

Before that, Messi was the joint goalscorer with C.Ronaldo of 43 goals in La Liga.

C.Ronaldo for me. He carried Madrid to the league title and was the one who took us to ET vs. Bayern.

Messi wasn't even the best player in his own league. It's between Yaya, Cristiano and Pirlo imo

Hunetelaar. On his way to become highest scorer even for Oranje in a little more than half the games as RVP. Was Highest scorer in EVERY competition he played this year.

Ribery should not be there. Big game Choker like EVERY BAYERN player this season. Did nothing in both legs against Dortmund,nothing in the Away Leg in Madrid,nothing much in the CHL final & woke up after 60 minutes in the Cup Final.

None of our players played when we mattered. Reason why we have 0 trophies instead of 3.

Like it or not Messi is set for another Ballon D'Or unless Cristiano does something extraordinary in the Euros and a I highly doubt that.

Atleast a German player might have had a chance if Bayern had won the CL and now even that looks improbable which leads a clear path to win the Ballon D'Or once again.

I'm not one for stat but messi was the top goalscorer AND the top assister in the league(with özil). This season barca was Messi(and sometimes sanchez) + 10, and that is not something that I like to admit. He single handedly led our attack.

1st Goal was OK DI Maria earned. 2nd was Offside.

I fail to see how he took to ET. He did convert his chances though. Scores very VERY well.

Manuel Neuer - 1147 minutes of no goals against over all competitions this season, setting a new record for Bayern and putting him as all-time Nr.4 in that. Plus 770 minutes of consecutive clean sheets in the BL, putting him as all-time Nr.3 there. ^^

Not this season. 2 Costly errors against Gladbach costing us 4 points atleast. Errors in the match against Dortmund Cup Final & so on.

He has been good. BUT NOT PLAYER of the season. Maybe next year.

Last season it was 31-29 for Messi before the last 4 games..
In the last 4 Liga games Messi started just one, while Cristiano played all the 4 games.. (finished 31-40)

This season, in Cristiano played all the games, like Messi.. It was 43-43 before the last 3 games..
Messi scored 7 while Cristiano 3 in the last 3 games.. (finished 50-46).

Assists is not a competition, Messi has 5 more assists than Ozil (29)...

Ronaldo didnt carry shit, most of his goals were directly assisted and had the best squad in the world around him.

No one matches Messi in terms of performances and consistency this season. Messi quite easily is the best player of this season.
