Robben was the real flop.

He should have been the first Bayern player to take the PK ffs- he took it in full time, show some balls and take it first in the shootout. Instead he was absent, Neuer > Robben at PK's.

Not to mention that he just sucked overall. No end product at all. Dribble dribble dribble and then either shoot over, pass back or lose the ball.

Gomez did flop today though. He has been absent almost every big game I watch of him...

The penalty is decided by the coaches. RObben would not have been allowed after missing 1.

Kroos & Tymo should have taken it. LVG said it before, players who miss should not have taken it again.

RObben in general had a good game,I thought he was the best bayern attacker. But his problem is his selfishness & he over-rates himself. He acts like as if he is Maradona with his long shots.

Anywyas If RObben had scored would we in?? Or would we concede from a set piece again?? I donno, not so sure.

But there is no excuse for missing a CHL final penaly. I dont think Robben should ever take a penalty again.

Ribery and Di Maria are the best classic wingers in the world. Gomez is far from the best striker. He has no technical ability, he can't even pass the ball. His finishing is overrated. He has good heading ability and is very strong.

i'm no fickle fan. robben is an easy target as a scapegoat because, he has consistently flopped in big game circumstances.

really though, how does neuer take a kick in the shootout, but robben doesn't?

The question is not RObben, question why not Kroos or Tymo.

Apparently as far I have heard, they all say they were tired. Robben was mentally devastated so I doubt if he wanted to take it or IF HE WOULD BE allowed.

But Kroos Tymo & everyone else backed out. Kroos is a Dead Ball Specialist,DVB is 34 & has experience, Tymo has a good shot.

Why did all the players back out?? Fear of missing.

None of them WANTED to be a "ROBBEN". Its perhaps easy to blame Robben I guess. I blame him too but I dont overlook the fact that he had a good game in the 90 minutes.

As a fan I am disguted that guys like Kroos & Tymo chickened out.

Robben can easily go up to coach and say I take it- there you go. The coaches must have agreed Robben is their best penalty taker (for he does take the penalty's) so I guess they were very scared he would miss it. As Robben himself was... so perhaps it was a good choice- but it still means he lacks balls.

Gyan missed the most important penalty of his life and all of Africa, and he was the first to step up and put it in for Ghana in the PK shootout.

Robben had a terrible game. The only thing he wasn't was missing- and honestly I think Bayern would have done better with Robben missing. Most of the time he simply lost the ball because he is god-shooter apparently.

I thought Robben was out-standing. Half a dozen Chelsea supporters messaged me saying they were shit scared when Robben was raping the defense.

Every attack of us came through Robben. There was no Ribery today. The 90 minutes of entertaining football came because he played those brilliant combination with Muller,Lahm & others. He atleast had like 10-12 Key passes which should have been converted.

I see you are 15 or 16. So probably you get emotionally swayed. I blame him for missing the PK too but I am objective enough to point out that he was fantastic in the 90 minutes of play. We had no LW today if you noticed & despite Chelsea playing two LB's we are very good at RW.

Maybe you only watched the last 30 minutes. Robben was shit in the extra time. I give him flak for that.

Gomez, second most goals this season in UEFA competition, 1 behind Messi I wouldn't call him a complete choke, everyone has a bad game.

In both semi-finals and the final....he had shockers.

If he's a poacher and he's clinical and shit, then sure he's the best because his movement is outstanding but his finishing was horrible, Benzema is better than this guy, no one can tell me otherwise from now on.

3 games, the 3 most important games, and he wasted 20 chances by himself? Benzema can do that for me and more.

Post by CBarca Sun May 20, 2012 12:01 am

I watched the full thing lol Very Happy but I am not a Bayern fan so unlike Idri, I am note too emotionally swayed (well, I am, but not at Bayern, just at Chelsea).

10-12 key passes that should have been converted? What? Bayern didn't even have that many chances. Your best chances were passes from Lahm and a mis-hit by Ribery.

I admit Robben did great running at the defense and trying to break them down and he worked hard, but he had very little end product. His shots went over, he passed the ball back, or he lost the ball. When he did pass it forward, they were often passes to Gomez that he had very little he could do with- and were often (again) promptly lost.

IMO, Lahm did more on the right wing than Robben did Laughing . I'm not even pointing out the fact that he failed to convert a potential game winning goal...

For the record too, I have nothing against Robben. I quite like him- but he was IMO the flop of the match.

Gomez is far from the one to blame......
