The Messiah wrote:Arsenal and Bayern are the most identical clubs in Europe, I'll rather people compare us with Arsenal than with Barcelona.
Over the last 5years or so, I'm sure Arsenal have spend more money than we did, but Barca is way way above, season after season Bayern Munich and Arsenal keep on making profit while still being able to challenge in Europe, Domestic cup and league.
For straight 19years Bayern have made profit and this year will obviously make it 20 straight season, also we've made profit in 29seasons out of 30.
Arsenal groom their own players just like us, the only difference between Bayern and Arsenal, is that they are sometimes not able to keep their top player, and I think this is as a result of grooming young foreign players, unlike Bayern were we developed German youth and neighbouring countries like Turkey, Austria etc, who are not only attach to them footballing wise, but also they feel at home.
Whose fault is it that other German Club can not buy anyone, compare us to other top European clubs and U'll see we buy reasonably
yeah, quite sure Ribery, Robben, Gomez, Gustavo are developed by Bayern. Quite sure you dont spend in the market too just like Arsenal.

Their signings come at reasonable prices, but they still spend more than any competitor.
Arsenal are like Dortmund, they develop players like Kagwa from nothing.
Arsenal only started this 'developing' players thing in late 2005, early 2006. Before then they were in the market buying players for areas they needed.

Remember in the 90's how Arsenal spent top dollar for players they wanted?

I'm pretty sure every club buys players in positions they need likea Robben a Ribery or a Gustavo. Doesn't mean that you can't buy players, it just means you should be smart about it while a team tries to find their own youth players to fill in other positions.

Ok.
Boateng
Gustavo
Robben
Ribery
Gomez
Neuer
Now even further back
Elber
Sagnol
Lizarazu
Ze Roberto
Ballack
S. Deisler
Makaay
Lucio
Santa Cruz
Pizzaro
and many more.
You were buying a truck load players as well. Recently, Bayern have been centrally focused on the youth promotion as the main goal

Oh of course, no doubt about it. It's just that this idea of, 'we raise youth so we're better' is annoying. Every club like you said was buying what they believed were the best players avaliable for the team, even Arsenal.

So Real Madrid are not unjustly rich?che wrote:Zuess99 wrote:what about madrid??? are they also a plastic club seeing that they spend like alot of money to win la liga?
sure they bought the league, but they bought it with their own money
don't hate the rich, hate the unjustly rich
Bank loans aside, is it fair to a bottome/mid-table La Liga team that they get peanuts for TV revenue while Madrid & Barca swallow the Lion's share?

So why did you put the list here.
Did I say Bayern don't buy players, I clearly said we buy reasonably compare to other European teams

I don't know the history, but Wenger did sign guys like Viera and Ljumberg and developed them into amazing players.

It's not strange when you look at the likes that come to criticise Hoeness, what do you expect from Real-Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea fans, but to be honest Chelsea fans has been more modest than the rest.

Re: Hoeness launches attack on the plastic clubs
Hoeness, Rummenige and few of others always remind me on that mentality that led to Third Reich.
They probably aren't psychopaths like Hitler was but it's that same "we are the best, we are doing it on best way, we are self-sustained etc. etc.." mentality and ideas that brought all that shit in WWII.
How unprofessional of him to be talking about another club in such manner. He sounds like your average no clue brain-dead media washed football fan that supports the scum. He probably thinks his shit doesn't stink too.

No, Real Madrid and Barca have been making ridiculous sums of money even before the current TV deal.

Your not getting the point. That year can be classified as a disaster and change was needed, it couldn't just be same old same old.
The though process is always develop youth/local players first and let them have a go at the starting XI. This doesn't always work out and players like Lell, Rensing and Ottl have failed but it was tried. If there isn't a youth product ready to be given a shot in a certain role that needs help then a player is bought but money that is spent is never going to cause Bayern to spend more than they earned for the season.

lol. So true.
City basically won the lottery. The Michael Carroll(google him) of football. A team with as much history as Huddersfield Town.
They just got lucky that some Billionaire Arab decided to play real life Football Manager...on cheat mode.
With Chelsea it's kinda different, atleast they were playing CL football and competing for a top 4 place before Abramovic came.

You spent 11 million (alot at the time) on Henry. They knew Wenger wanted him and they got you to overpay.
But he and Bergkamp were highly rated....so i wouldn't include them.

I wonder what Audi and Lufthansa think of his comments? Does he feel dirty and disgusted taking sponsor money from companies that businesses rely on the "oil mafia's" products, owned by Russians and Arabs?

Players out:
1 Roy Makaay: Undisclosed fee
2 Pizarro: Free
3 Hargreaves: £17m
4: Salihamidzic: Free
5: Santa Cruz: £3.5m
Players in:
1: Klose £10m
2: Ze Roberto Free
3: Luca Toni: £7.5m
4: Ribery: £17m
5: Hamit: Free
We spent £34.5m in transfer and earned £20.5. You don't want to go down there, we bought those player with reasonable price and sold our players for reasonable price, even allowed some to leave for free.
I forgot about Makaay transfer fee, add that to the £20.5m
We're talking about spending just £34.5m to buy all those players, now compared that to how much Barca spent on Sanchez, Fabregas, Dmytro Chygrynskiy, Man City, Liverpool £100m, Madrid on Ronaldo, Coentrao etc
compare Coentrao transfer fee to Rafinha or Alaba's
Add to that, we made profit that years as well.
