Re: FA Cup Final: Chelsea v Liverpool
It's been a boring game for neutrals, frustrating one for LFC fans.
Should bring Carroll on for Spearing at half-time, we've got better chances playing hoof ball to Andy and relying on his lay-offs than trying to get anywhere with a midfield five that cannot outperform Chelsea's midfield.

That was a good game. Not even biased here.Zealous wrote:animal.crackers wrote:This is one of the worst FA Cup finals ever.

It was combative, physical game. Stoke had a one on one chance. There were also good saves by both teams.
Liverpool are showing no fight whatsoever.
Also, the atmosphere was much better than this *bleep*.

Liverpool really are awful. No midfield whatsoever. Long balls to Carroll from here on out

Cheer up, Liverpool. Things change quickly in football and you're just eleven new players away from being a great side again.

What's Chelsea's fetish of making scrubs look like Gawds? Been like this for a few years now.

That was probably the worst game I've ever seen Gerrard play, totally anonymous. The signs were there when a 37 year old Paul Scholes bossed him twice earlier in the year. His legs are really failing on him

Gerrard has been declined since Rafa left. Why exactly are you surprised?

Fair play to Carrol, he was really good when he came on. Completely changed the game for LFC. Chelsea were lucky to hang on in the end.

Re: FA Cup Final: Chelsea v Liverpool
As a smart poster on another forum said, you simply can't play that shit for 60 minutes and get anything out of a game against a team as good as Chelsea.
There really looked like Liverpool had no set formation for most of the first half which is... concerning. Suarez was completely isolated while the 5 men between him and the defense just wandered about. Henderson did make good runs into the box on the few times the team did get forward, but his composure and relative lack of experience still let him down at key times.
Here's hoping Downing grows a pair over the summer, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm not, I've talked about Gerrard's decline on here before. It's just a sort of conclusive ending to his decline - always the big match player, but just didn't turn up at all today.

Re: FA Cup Final: Chelsea v Liverpool
I think Kenny played a 4-2-3-1 just to match RDM's 5 man midfield. It didn't work out well with Suarez as the lone man up front.RedOranje wrote:As a smart poster on another forum said, you simply can't play that shit for 60 minutes and get anything out of a game against a team as good as Chelsea.

Congratulations to Chelsea, a deserved win. Made Liverpool's season a disappointment, but that's what you sometimes get. Here's hoping the Champions League trophy comes to English soil.
