^the thing is that when 'Dinho and Kaka left Brazil to Europe, they were already really good but developed into world-class superstars and performed at unbelievable levels for a consistent period of time.

Dinho lost form because he probably lost motivation and wanted to enjoy the nightlife etc

Kaka had a bad injury and never really returned to that pre-injury form.

The fact is that those 2 left Brazil and rose to the top of the top..

What Nick meant is that he would pay 5x the price if Neymar is guaranteed to perform in Europe consistently at the level that Kaka and R10 DID DO for many years.

thats the whole point.. you dont know if they will perform the same or better in europe cause the brazilian league does not assure you that

No way.

When he first joined, he was raw so I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

The 06/07 season was filled with inconsistant performances and a lack attitude which caused cappello to drop him from the team. He came good towards the end of the season, against Sevilla at home, but he was slack.

07/08, he started of brilliantly and actually looked like he was training and giving a damn. After he came back from injury, the old Robinho returned who was slack, lazy and the epitome of inconsistant. He may have been player of the FIRST HALF of the season, but not second. Casillas, Raul, Sneijder performed better than him that year. Hell even Pipita was outshining him in the second half of the season.

He was used as a bargining tool by Clownderon to help win the elections coming up and felt disrespected, which he should of. But he did not live upto expectations at all. Guy was a let down.

Brazillian players are overrated nowadays. And no Neymar isnt better than Cristiano.

Dribbling isnt everything. Many people dont get this, and some never will.

What Neymar does, he does against shit players. When he comes to Europe, he won't score half the goals he scores in Brazil.

Well I can't fight all that down.

Calderon and Capello didn't like him...all i can say in 06-07 , he and Beckham were consistently the creative fulcrums of our attack in the 2nd half of the season that initiated our come back.

07-08 .He was brilliant at the start,,,to be fair he did get injured ,never did regain his flow after the injury but continued to play fairly well.

Inconsistent? OK. But for the purposes of this thread at least...there were stretches where he was amazing.European defences (better than today's) didn't magically learn how to stop him.

Are people still using the garbage "It's only Brazil" argument? The fact that he's the King of Brazil at only 18/19, a place which has historically produced the highest amount of GOAT's in World Football should tell you how good he is.

He clowns defenders for fun, his movement is brilliant, he's two footed, great finisher, high football IQ, great all round passer and on top of all that he sells as many shirts as Messi and co.

He's miles better than Robinho so I don't know why people keep comparing the two. I mean he's only a few goals away from being the most prolific goalscorer in Santos history since the Pele era ffs.

I really hope he doesn't go to Barca/Madrid and play second fiddle to Messi and Ronaldo though.

EDIT: I agree with Fabiano. Ronaldo can't even dribble anymore these days ffs. Don't give me the La Liga have better defenders argument either. We all know that's bulls**t.

Ronaldo stopped dribbling consistently when bulked up as he lost a lot of his agility. Now he is all about power and pace.

But yeah, La Liga defenders know how to stop technical players a lot better than PL defenders.
