Have to go small to score, but then cant defend.

Whenever Hill comes in, or even McRoberts, Galo will move to the 4 so they can get the best out of their offence.

But when Gasol and Bynum play together, they have to go big again.

But to be honest, Al Harrington cant gaurd Pau any better than Galo so they may aswell just go small and double at every chance.

The problem is, they want Rondo to shoot jumpers so its impossible for him to really create.

I know he leads the league in assists and is a great passer, however he isnt a great natural creator because the majority of his assists are coming out of sets.

He cant do what Nash does, get in the lane, freestyle and make something outta nothing.

Its either out of the sets (which Boston's shooters are not hitting) or in transition for him.

Major flaw in his game.

Boston making another run, they keep making runs and then one of the Hawks players kill it with a couple big shots and then defence stops.

Down to 8, what happens next will be crucial. If the Hawks make shots now, force missed jumpers and the lead grows again..it might be over. If they dont, the C's are back in it.

interesting on rondo, maybe i havent been following nba as closely, but isnt getting assists on fast breaks and sets a sign of discipline which is what celtics are all about?

just because he doesn't have as much freedom given by the coach to do whatever he wants as opposed to a veteran like nash, doesn't mean he is not a "creator"? or is there something else im missing here?

Nah, its not about a lack of freedom. He cant shoot well consistently, so teams let him shoot and dont let him get into the lane in the half court.

So because he cant get into the lane, he cant create like other points gaurds in the mold of Nash, Kidd and so on.

Its not that Rondo isnt a creator, its just he has to rely on his shooters hitting shots out of set plays alot.

i understand your point now, ya rondo really needs to work on that shot, a mid range would make him deadly. much like how a midrange makes TP deadly...

i think his shots have improved in the second half of the season, but nowhere good enough of course, i definitely expect him to practice on the shots HARD this summer...
