This thread is another proof that Messi is going to win it.. Just look at people, they can't decide or agree on player IF Germany won the Euro, votes will split between Ozil/Neuer/Schwein/Kross/Lahm/Muller etc.. Same will happen when it comes to Spain Casillas/Xavi/Iniesta/Silva...

Messi had a great season individually, no one is close to him individually [the most complete player currently by a distance]...

Again, this award is for the player with best INDIVIDUAL performance.. Not for the player who won the most trophies, trophies are won by teams Not individuals!

Btw Inter won the Treble, not Sneijder lol.. mourinho's tactics and Inter defence were the reason behind the trophies they won #lol Sneijder had a very gd season, but not in a million years, he is not a ballon d'or material.. U can see how he disappeared after Mou left Inter...

LOL, Sneijder won the treble playing for Inter. Is that phrasing pedantic enough?

Sneijder was the world's best that year. Don't try to argue that he was just there to make up the numbers. Didn't even make top 3 = proof it was rigged. Your 'Mourinho argument' also accounts for his success at the WC, right?

IMO Ozil will be Germany's best player and if they win euros he will be the one.

Not taking anything away from Sneijder, but in the WC, he was not the best player in the team to be frank. I though Robben was better.

No Bundesliga player is winning the ballon d'Or, too little exposure.

That being said, Schweinsteiger was injured for too long, so not him. Neuer is a goal keeper, so not him. Özil maybe, he plays for Real and was good even in the matches that Real lost. Plus he's a flair player and voters eat that shit up. Lahm is a defender, so not him. Also he's been below his usual best for the part of the season he played LB. Robben - missed too much, wasn't exactly decisive in the UCL, Ribéry would be more likely, but I don't see France doing much.

Müllers season was bad compared to his usual self, not really bad, but he was better last season. Gomez... Maybe, but not having scored against Real... People might remember that.

Also with Gomez, let's remember that it's still very possible that Klose starts more than he does during the Euros.

So the only two German players I see winning it are Özil and Gomez, because one is a flair player and the other is a goal scorer, goals scored is a stat that those premface judges can't really ignore, so if Bayern and Germany win, and he's along for both rides with a couple goals, he's got a decent chance.

That being said... Probably Messi, right?
